Fresh bread today (Monday). I’ll be taking next week off, so I’m baking every day THIS week so that you can buy and freeze it to thaw next week. I don’t want anyone to be breadless when the Breadstand is taking a summer break!

Just posted a video about our (not so) lil chickens getting their first taste of GrubTerra’s black fly larvae. One thing I forgot to say in the video is that this product is chemical-free and helps eliminate food waste (which is a massive problem in the U.S.) by using food that would go to landfills to feed the larvae who then feed your chickens who then feed you! It’s a nice life cycle. Anyway, check out the video if you’re interested. I try to plan my baking week so we don’t have any extra bread. The bad news is that my careful planning didn’t work out this weekend. But the good news is that we now have around 20 loaves of day-old bread we’re offering as a two-for-one special!

$8 for two regular loaves or $6 for two small loaves. Sourdough freezes really well if you want to buy now and eat later! 🇺🇸

Wednesday bread! One batch made with white flour and a bit of rye, the other with white flour and a bit of spelt. Love baking with local flour, with the added nutritional benefits of ancient and heritage grains!
