Peek into this vibrant backyard summer soiree! The smell of fried chicken, fresh biscuits and classic barbecue side filled the air in the backyard of Ron and Debbie Johnson’s home last summer as guests mingled throughout the flowers. 🌼

By keeping the menu simple, the couple had more time to focus on what made the night feel magical: beautiful tablescapes, thoughtful details and a backyard designed to bring people together. White chairs and tablecloths made the perfect canvas for wild, colorful floral arrangements—some sourced locally, others snipped right from their own backyard. 🌿 “Most people prefer to spend time outside, especially during the summer,” Ron says. “Being outside stimulates all five of our senses and it just seems like it’s human nature to feel happier and more relaxed outside."

At Persimmon Hill Farm in Lampe, Martha and Earnie Bohner have spent more than 40 years welcoming families to pick berries, eat muffins and explore the land. 🫐

Through their passion for fresh-grown produce and homemade products, the Bohners demonstrate both a love for great taste and a thoughtful commitment to cultivating a meaningful, family-friendly farm experience. “We have multiple generations that came here as kids,” Martha says.

The couple treasures those connections most—especially when past visitors return with children and grandchildren in tow. For them, the best part of the job is watching families build traditions and engage with the farm-to-consumer experience year after year.
