Sunrise Rotary was busy yesterday morning! We started by welcoming several new members to our Rotary Family- Nathan Henderson sponsored by Jayson Workman, Lauren Cook sponsored by Megan Neyer and Julie Cummings sponsored by Paula Dougherty. We also had a red sticker removal for Jennifer Sickinger by her mentor, Sandy Rice. We then welcomed up Ellen Dowdy who spoke to our club about Rescue One, a 501(c)(3), foster-based animal rescue located in Springfield. She talked about their mission, and the capital campaign they recently launched for their new facility and clinic. It was a GREAT morning over at Hickory Hills!!

12 Sunrise rotarians (+ 2 minis) volunteered at Ozarks Food Harvest this morning to pack weekend backpacks for kids around the region. Working with other community volunteers, more than 1100 backpacks were prepped with “hope notes” and 7000 weekend meals for kids in need.

Wednesday mornings are our favorite day of the week because we start it with our Sunrise Rotary Family! Today we got to hear from three new members as they gave their Classification talks with us. Classification talks are a chance for them to share with the club about their family, career and their passions! Today we had the honor of listening to Derrick Estell- Civil Engineer with Toth and Associates, Dave Perry- Assistant Director- South America for Manna Worldwide and lastly, Nathaniel Toms- owner of Mr. Electric.

In our weekly Sunrise Rotary meeting on Wednesday morning we got to hear from Parker Owens. In 2023 he started his own Lego making business and has now successfully launched Parker’s Brick Builds. He shared some cool sets he created with us. We got to hear about the process of him launching this business!

This morning we had an awesome program with nForm Architecture & Springfield
Historian, Paden Chambers. We got to hear all about their business model and we even walked through a potential development plan by learning about the deep background of an historic building.
We got to welcome new member, Craig Kellmann, brought to our club by Jayson Workman.
Two of our members got their new member stickers removed today: Walton Muller mentored by Michael Brady and Patrick Ransdell mentored by Callie Swafford. What a great Wednesday morning with our Sunrise Rotary Club.
