**Pancheros Mexican Grill**

There is a new restaurant open in Springfield, so of course we had to check it out! Pancheros is in 13 different states, and this is the 6th location for Missouri.
It has a very Moe’s / Chipotle / Go Burrito vibe. You head in, order at the counter and pick your toppings, and take your items to your seat.
Atmosphere is what you would expect, nothing fancy, but clean and well put together. There were a lot of people there when we visited (which is expected when new places open) but we placed an order through the app, and got our order at the window shortly after we arrived. I would suggest doing this until the crowd dies down a little! They also have a Drive-Thru which you don’t see a lot.

*Burritos*
Get ready. These babies are BIG. It’s hard to tell from the pictures, but trust me. Obviously everyone can pick their own toppings, so every combination will be different, but I was pleased with my flavor combination: chicken, cilantro lime rice, black beans, sautéed veggies, cheese, lettuce, roasted corn salsa, pico de gallo, and sour cream. I did not think that the chicken was spicy, but a couple kids thought it was. Another member of our party got steak and said that was good as well! They do not have ground beef as an option, so know that going in. Overall, it was a good burrito. I’m not sure if it’s quite worth the price tag of $9.25, but it was good, and a good option for something fast casual.

*Burrito Bowl*
Overall a good Item. This bowl ended up costing $13, and I would hope for a little more food in the bowl for that price, but as far as the taste of the food, there were no complaints.

*Tacos*
When you order tacos, it comes with 2 for $7.50. I do feel like you get MORE for your money with the burrito, but the tacos were just as good if that’s what you are craving. There are only soft tacos, not crunchy ones.

*Chips and Queso*
Anywhere we go, I have to try the cheese dip. It’s one of my favorite things. This cheese dip is different, but good. It’s not the fake plastic-tasting cheese like some of the quicker places have. It’s also not the best I’ve ever had. But it’s good for a quick queso fix! It also comes with blue tortilla chips, which I personally love, but it’s different so just know that going in.

Overall I liked the place and will go back. I’m always exited to see new food places come to Springfield, so welcome Pancheros Mexican Grill!

** Social BTB**

One of the newer restaurants in Nixa is Socialbtb.nixa! The BTB stands for Burgers, Tenders, and Beer…and that’s exactly what they serve.
Overall Social BTB is a great spot to grab a good bite. They also have a full bar, beer on tap and do different festive drinks for different times of the year. They have football games on and encourage people to come out and watch with them. The seating and atmosphere is good for grabbing a quick bite with a friend or if you have several people in your group.

*Cheeseburger*
The burgers all come with 2 patties and white American cheese. They have crispy edges and are a good classic burger. My only wish is that they offered a single patty option.

*Tenders*
Big, juicy, crispy tenders. To me, a tender is only as good as its sauce, so hold on while I tell you they have FIFTEEN sauces (in addition to ketchup) that you can choose from. A sauce-lovers dream. So far the honey mustard has been my favorite, but I have many more to try. I will point out that the BTB house sauce is a Polynesian-type sauce, not a Zaxbys or Chick-fil-A type house sauce. Just something good to know if you’ve never been!

*Chicken Sandwich*
This sandwich is two tenders with a bun. The tenders are very good and the sandwich is good, it’s just very big and hard to eat as one big piece.

*Sides*
The fries are very crispy. There isn’t any kind of big seasoning on them, so to me (the sauce lover) a sauce is needed to add some flavor. I definitely would like to try the salt and vinegar ones next time.
The sweet potato fries have about the same review.
The onion straws were great. The tiny pieces had great crunch to them and I would definitely get them again!
-they do offer corn nuggets and cheese curds on their appetizer list and both are on my list to try!

The Aviary Cafe is the next stop!

If you have not visited this gem of a place in Springfield, it is definitely time. Honestly, it is hard to find a place like this around here! The decor and lighting give European vibes, and the brunch menu gives options for anyone in your party. Whether you are looking for simple breakfast foods, culinary crepes, or even a burger, The Aviary Cafe has the options!

*LIMITED FALL MENU ITEM - The 'Is It Fall' crepe*
I wanted to try something different this time, even though the other items I've ordered before have all been good. I'm a sucker for seasonal foods and chef creations. This crepe was filled with turkey, cranberries, butternut squash and sautéed spinach. It was served with a little sage gravy on the plate as well. All of these flavors complimented each other wonderfully. My only wish is that the gravy was either mixed in with the items or at least covered the plate. There was barely enough gravy to eat with one half of the crepe, and without it the ingredients were just a little dry. If you decide to order this, I would ask for an additional side of gravy!

*Butternut Squash Soup*
There are some things that just go along with fall, and butternut squash is one of them. This soup was presented with perfection topped with a light creme fraiche and green onions. It was delicious and I would definitely order it again!

*Black & Bleu Pasta*
DID YOU KNOW you can get any of the savory crepes as a pasta? We tried that this time! The Black & Bleu comes with sirloin tips, caramelized onions, and a blackened cream sauce. I'm sure it's good in a crepe, but I feel like the pasta is its best match. Bleu cheese topped it off and melted perfectly in - and I don't even like bleu cheese. This made me rethink my stance on it!

*Side of Loaded Brussel Sprouts*
Crispy brussel sprouts and pickled onions topped with goat cheese and balsamic glaze. Normally if you order them loaded, they come with bacon too, but we opted for no bacon this time. I know, I know, who doesn't like bacon. But honestly sometimes it just takes away from the taste. Cue the hate.
These were very good. I think they could be improved just a little if they were smaller pieces so they could be crispier, but the taste of all the flavors together was matched great. I would get these again!

*The Venitian Crepe*
This crepe is savory with tomatoes, spinach, mushrooms, onions, and goat cheese. On top is hollandaise and parmesan cheese. I know I sound like a broken record, but they nailed the flavors again. Everything together with the hollandaise was just delicious. I've ordered this several times!

*Funky Monkey Crepe*
This one is a sweet crepe that has whipped cream and Nutella. Big fan of Nutella. We ordered it with bananas and without describing anything, I'll just let you know the entire plate was gone and licked clean. Enough said.

**NEW Chocolate Orange Mousse Cup**
This is so new I don't even know what it is called, so that title is just made up. This brand-new dessert was created by one of the chefs trying to figure out the same flavors in a crepe, but then traded the crepe for a cup! She nailed it. Homemade orange curd with homemade chocolate mousse all layered between whipped cream. THEN it is topped with orange zest and a candied, chocolate dipped orange slice with a few edible flower pieces. Chefs Kiss. The orange curd is my favorite part. Absolutely fantastic invention.
My only note on this is that it is very rich, so share with friends!

SS Dockside Cafe and Pub in Nixa

There is a lot to say about this place. Some good, some not so good.

Let’s start with the good. This building and surrounding area is very much an awesome, unique experience in itself. There are crazy cool decorations everywhere you turn, and there’s an entire area of eclectic items and even pinball. It’s an adventure just walking around! In the back outside there is a huge porch and a big grassy area with a stage. The fun events and get togethers that could happen here would be epic!
All of that being said … almost none of this is utilized. There are barely any events that are held there, and if they are, the marketing for anyone to know about them is close to nonexistent.

The Food.
There is quite the menu available. Several choices, and the prices along side them make you believe you’ll very much enjoy your meal.

*Shrimp Alfredo*
We ordered this with an added blackened seasoning, but it was not served with blackened seasoning. An easy thing to forget, but man do I wish it would have had it. Without it, it was sorely lacking in flavor. Even if you are using a jarred Alfredo sauce, some sort of addition would be needed. For $19 our expectations were higher.

*Shrimp Tacos*
This came with a salad before hand which was nice. When it was set down in front of me, I was surprised at the size. 3 big tacos that were loaded with shrimp and toppings. I also got the side of cheese dip and chips.
The slaw salsa tasted like maybe it was old or had been sitting out. There was just a weird twang to it. The shrimp were also unseasoned and rubbery. The cheese dip was cold and, surprise, unseasoned. An overall let down of a dish.

I say all of this in a sad tone. This unique place has SUCH potential. It really is one of the coolest hang out spots around, or could be. With some seasoning in the dishes and effort in the atmosphere, I really do believe this place could be so much better.

Let’s start with the place that’s been the talk of the town since they opened. The Table has been reviewed up and down. People rave about it. People complain about it.

When we visited, there was barely a line at the counter. Yes, it’s counter service. Apparently this upsets a lot of people. I did not find it annoying or even note worthy. It just was what it was. The only time I can see this becoming an issue is if you need another drink or have to ask a question to a server. It would be nice to have a separate window or section for customers who have already ordered.

We ordered our food and then grabbed a table. The decor is spectacular. Springfield needs more places like this. Modern, but inviting and cozy. Gorgeous and homey. We loved it.
Ok. On to the food.

The *Street Corn Dip & Chips* was surprisingly spectacular. I just wasn’t expecting much to be honest. But it was definitely worth getting.

I ordered the *Harvest Bowl* and again, I was surprised. It was delicious. The ingredients were very fresh, and tasted great. The drizzle of maple Dijon brought it all together perfectly. My only suggestion on this one is that they slice the steak into smaller bite-size pieces.

We also got the *Cajun Chicken Pasta*. This is a dish you find many places, but a lot of times it is quite bland. Not the case here. Seasoning was spot on. You also don’t usually find this with both chicken AND sausage, and it was a tasty addition! This is also served with sourdough toast, and who doesn’t like sourdough?

The *Ribeye* here has been at the center of a lot of discussion in Springfield. People complain about the price. At $32, I honestly think it’s a steal. Even if you’ve never left Springfield to expand your palate and you choose to eat a bland steak at Outback Steakhouse, that would cost you $28.99. I’ll pay $3 more for superior flavor any day.

Overall, The Table was stunning. Fantastic decor and ambiance, great food presentation, and then of course what we all are actually interested in- good tasting food.
