West Valley Central School appointed Rachel Mychajluk as their new UPK-12 Principal/Curriculum Coordinator, taking over from Daniel Amodeo, who is now the Superintendent. Mychajluk had previously taught social studies at WVCS from 2016-22, and returns to the school after having served as assistant principal at both Lewiston-Porter Middle School and Newfane High School.

A Wendy’s will be constructed at 231 S. Cascade Drive, between the Mavis Discount Tire and Emerling Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, and an A&W Restaurant will be constructed at 218 S. Cascade Drive, where the former Pizza Hut used to be.

A new flower shop opened a few months ago in Springville. Jazzy Floral Arrangements is located at 482 S. Cascade Drive next to Lowe’s Home Improvement. The owner, Jasmin Willis, is from Ellicottville and has worked in Springville, getting to know the community. After years of working with her grandfather at his landscaping business, she was ready to pursue her dream.

The Cordelian Club has made a generous donation to Bertrand Chaffee Hospital to support the launch of an in-house lifesaving training program. This funding will establish certified training in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) for both hospital staff and members of the local community.
