Man jumps from Blanchette Bridge after fleeing police in stolen vehicle ‼️🚙 🚓🚨

As we, at SCCMST, reported several hours ago the man jumped off the bridge when he saw police coming. They searched using drones and a boat, but they did not find him. The search resumed on Friday.

Search crews returned to the Missouri River on Friday after a man jumped from the Blanchette Bridge after leading police on a chase overnight.
Cpl. Barry Bayles with the St. Charles County Police Department said the incident started when an officer from the Gateway Regional Interdiction Task Force tried to pull a car over near Ist Capitol Drive and Pralle Lane for a traffic violation. The driver sped off, leading police on a chase.

Officers continued to pursue the car onto the eastbound Interstate 70. The driver crashed on the Blanchette Bridge after diving over multiple spike strips and popping three of his four tires.

The man got out of his car, but when he saw police approaching, he jumped off the south side of the bridge.

Bayles said the department used its drone unit and a search boat to look for the man, but did not find him due to the darkness. Bayles said the water patrol division of the Missouri State Highway Patrol resumed a search for the man on Friday.

Police said an investigation revealed the car was stolen out of St. Louis County.

This story will be updated when more information becomes available.
