LAST NIGHT WAS ANOTHER BUSY TIME ⏰
Between midnight and 2:00 AM overnight, first responders across St. Charles County, as well as our neighbors in Warren and Lincoln counties, were dispatched to a wide range of emergencies.🚨

From serious vehicle crashes and motorcycle accidents to domestic violence incidents, self-harm calls, drug overdoses, and medical emergencies, it was a difficult and often heartbreaking night for many families and the men and women who answered the call.🚨

While most of us are asleep, there is an entire world of activity unfolding around us—often involving people experiencing some of the worst moments of their lives.💤

Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by these incidents, as well as the police officers, firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, and other first responders who work tirelessly through the night to keep our communities safe.🙏

Maybe our grandparents were onto something when they said, “Be home by midnight—nothing good happens after the clock strikes twelve.”⏰

Please stay safe, stay vigilant, and look out for one another.

Stolen base leads to felony charge⚾️🥎🧢🏟️

The Lincoln County Journal

ELSBERRY – A literal stolen base led to an arrest warrant being issued recently accusing an O’Fallon man of stealing $50,000 in baseball memorabilia from his dead uncle.

According to a probable cause statement, Joshua DePriest, 30, stole the items from his uncle’s Elsberry home sometime in July and August 2025.

His aunt reported the theft and said she hadn’t noticed the items missing because they were replaced with less valuable ones.

But then she saw the stolen base for sale online.

“(She) became aware of the thefts after seeing her game-used base on EBay with a matching Fan Cave Certificate of Authenticity Code … that she had (on) the card still in her possession.”

The victim told Lincoln County sheriff’s detectives she found the item online on an account she and DePriest used to sell reconditioned soccer shoes.

When contacted via telephone, DePriest allegedly admitted to stealing the items and that he still had some in his possession. He returned a box of items he had taken and claimed he would try and get more.

DePriest also provided a list of items sold and the people they were sold to with some addresses.

However, the probable cause statement alleges DePriest stopped cooperating with law enforcement, refusing to answer calls from detectives and his probation officer.

After pleading guilty to methamphetamine possession in 2024, DePriest received a suspended three-year prison sentence, and was placed on probation for five years.

Lincoln County Associate Court Judge Michael Jacobs signed an arrest warrant May 22 charging DePriest with felony stealing, accompanied by a $5,000 cash-only bond.

Tricia Byrnes for State Senate &
Peg Shingleton-Bottorff -- Friends and neighbors of SD10,

You can tell a candidate by the fights they choose.

When families needed answers on nuclear waste, I showed up and helped secure billions in RECA relief alongside Senator Hawley.

When property taxes crushed seniors, I showed up.

When 988 failed vulnerable Missourians, I showed up and helped bring attention to problems that ultimately led to national reforms, thanks to President Trump.

When veterans faced government red tape, I showed up.

When families were waiting for answers in cold cases, I showed up with detective-backed legislation that helped identify criminals and bring closure to victims' families.

Everything I do is rooted in standing up to powerful interests when Missouri families need a voice.

I was not an insider.

I was a mom, a wife, a taxpayer, and your State Representative, fighting to get results.

To me, fighting means choosing battles that matter, building coalitions, and delivering results.

That is why I am running for the Missouri Senate.

The work is not finished, and SD10 deserves someone who answers to the people, not powerful insiders and special interests.

Let's finish what we started. Vote Tricia Byrnes.

No-excuse absentee voting starts July 21, 2026.
