How To Retarget On YouTube For Massive Effectiveness

This allows you to continue to tell you a story to those who have visited your site.

You can help them overcome objections as well as introduce more information. This is very effective when you have a product or offer that you need to further explain a process or system. Or when you need to have multiple touch points before the consumer decides to purchase.

As they continue through their buyers journey you can continue to provide more information to lead them along in their journey to buying your product.

Another great method is a trust building exercise and just follow up with a video message. This is a great way to continue to build trust and let them know you are here to help them.

An FAQ type video is a great example to provide additional info that helps the future buyer overcome objections. It gets them to get over the hump and try out your product or service.

Avoid These Traffic Traps

Every network has built in traffic traps and they push these saying they are great, but in the end you are just going to waste money. Don’t fall for these traps.

I am going to only talk about Facebook in this post.

1. Avoid daily budgets and instead choose Lifetime budgets.

2. Don’t let facebook auto place your ads. Isolate and test each placement because rarely do all placements work effectively.

3. Don’t lump all devices into the same ad. Separate desktop and mobile because they behave very differently from an engagement and conversion standpoint. This also allows you to create the proper message for each device and user.

You should talk to a mobile user differently to get their attention than you do with a desktop user.

4. Pick the proper optimization. If you are not getting 50 sales per week then Facebook isn’t able to optimize your campaign. So move up the funnel to Add To Cart conversions or Clicks To Website so that you can reach those 50 conversion for optimization.

You can also then move back down the funnel as you dial in the offer and campaign and sales are coming in.

5 Instagram Ad Types To Test

These ad types I have chosen are based on my experience with the accounts I manage. Some of these have worked very well and others not so much.

I am giving you all 5 though so that you can test and see which ad types work best for your business.

1. Slideshow Ads

Slideshow ad types are effective and easy to create. There is no video required. You piece together images to tell a quick story and it doesn’t require user interaction. You can then add a CTA to the end.

2. Video

This is definitely the most engaging and can sometimes require more production based on what type of industry you are in.

The max length is limited to 60 seconds.

3. Images

These are the easiest and fastest to create. The text in the images are limited to 20% so that can sometimes be a challenge. This is why I like slideshows better because I can tell a story while staying within the 20% text rule.

Images work good with real people using your physical product, selfies, testimonials, etc.

4. Carousel

Carousels tell a story with no video creation required. They do require user interaction though and the user has to scroll to see all of it. Unfortunately many of us are lazy and if the first image in the carousel doesn’t capture their attention they are not likely to scroll and see the other images in the carousel.

The very first image is everything in regards to capturing their attention and getting them to scroll.

5. Stories

Stories are like snapchat and are video creatives. Right now this method doesn’t seem to be effective with paid media. They are easy to skip which then you just end up paying for impressions, but no clicks.

Stories might be an effective way to advertise someday, but right now they just don’t seem to produce the ROI.

How To Find Good Affinity & In-Market Audiences In Google Analytics

You are able to target the people behind the computer and not the content.

You use this for better targeting in Google Ads.

Affinity means their typical online behavior (big sports fan and always on sports sites)

In-Market means their Atypical online behavior (Example: searching for a new car)

This method is super scalable because there is less research required and you can target broader “buckets”.

Here is how you find your best affinity and in-market categories.

Go into your Google Analytics account and go to Interests. You do have to have Ad reporting turned on to have this populate.

Write down a list of your best performers who have converted on your site based on the conversion goals/ecommerce numbers you see.

Take these categories and then plug them into your Ad Groups so that you are targeting those similar people who have also bought from your store/site.

5 Different Types Of Landing Pages You Can Use In Your Funnels

1. Short Squeeze

A. F pattern
- Logo on the top left
- Social Proof on top right
- Navigation on the left
- Content goes on center/right of page

B. Z Pattern

Eye tracking software shows that some people go from top left to the right then down and across back to the left and then back to the right. Just like a Z.

Use a short squeeze to get high conversions, but maybe not the highest quality leads.

2. Full Squeeze:

Companies you will see use this type of full squeeze because they are looking to get the highest quality leads. It will cost you more, but this is used when you are then offering a high ticket item, an event or something like this. Paying $100 per lead is still cheap because with this type of squeeze page you are selling $1,000 items and higher.

3. Reverse Squeeze

You are giving them the content and value first and then saying “hey if you want more info like this or you want parts 2 and 3 of this course optin here to get the other modules.”

They then optin after getting the value first to receive all the additional value assets.

The content you give them upfront could be a video or an article or even an infographic. This is essentially the law of reciprocity where you give them something valuable and they naturally feel like they owe you.

4. Sneaky Squeeze

You are going to show the product image a headline and short description. Then your button says Get Instant Access.

When they click that button an optin option appears to actually get the content. This type of page tends to convert really high because they have this urge to want what they can’t have. They can see the product yet they have to get past that door to receive it.

5. Coming Soon Squeeze

If you are running a new product or even a perpetual launch you can use this squeeze page to build excitement. All you need is a headline, short description, a countdown timer, optin button and then some share buttons to encourage those who visit to share the page and the widget that is about to be release.

How To Make A Good Advertorial

One example is a Listicle Advertorial. This type of advertorial is a list of items. For example “7 Ingredients You Can Eat For Blood Sugar Control”

The advertorial lists out the 7 ingredients/foods, describes them and tells them that they can do it this way and source these foods or eat these large quantities to get an active dose. Or they can take this one supplement that has all 7 of these active ingredients plus 3 more.

So you are giving them valuable content and a call to action on how they can benefit from this info without having to source all the ingredients/food individually.

When you do this right your advertorial will start to get shares and spread the message/offer.

Here is a sample layout on how it should look.

1. Header Optin
2. Sidebar Offer
3. Content with 1-2 links in the copy.
3. Footer Offer

Don’t make it look like a news site or have a bunch of navigation links at the top that don’t work or they all go to the offer page. This is the quickest way to have native ad platforms and Google shut your account down.

You can have navigation links, but have them go to real articles/advertorials that are setup the same way. This way you are providing additional valued content the reader likes and so do the ad platforms.

Here is Why Most People Fail With Twitter Advertising…

Twitter is not nearly as smart as Facebook based on the amount of data that Facebook collects and the amount of users it has.

So when marketers try to take what is working for them on Facebook and apply it to Twitter the campaign falls on its face.

Twitter is good at very specific targeting and Facebook is good at making decisions behind the scenes based on the enormous amount of data it can pull from.

Session duration on Twitter is much shorter and this is why specific targeting is key to capture their attention.

Sports, Tech, Finance News and following live events or specific followers is what Twitter is good at.

Twitter focuses more on the 18-49 age business crowd vs consumer audience. They are more educated, earn more than those on Facebook and are in more urban areas.

If you are in these industries then Twitter might be a good marketing strategy. Just don’t try and take what you do on Facebook and apply it to twitter.

Facebook is watching your activity on page in the form of social proof.

This influences your ad cost with their platform.

We have some clients that consistently get 11 to 32 cents per click with multiple different ads and I also have clients that are paying $1.32 for a click.

The main difference I see between my clients who pay hardly anything for clicks and those who pay 5x more is the activity and engagement they have on their FB page.

They are posting at a minimum of 1x per day along with posting FB live videos a few times a week. This brings in the viewers and when the content is what their audience wants to read or watch they get likes, shares and comments.

It is this social proof that has kept their ad costs down while everyone else is complaining that FB ad cost keeps going up.

Want your ad cost to go down?

Get your FB page engagement to go up.

Start posting content that your audience loves and they will respond by showing their support with likes and shares.

Shares and comments are more important than likes so create posts that ignite a response or drive with your audience.

Something they feel so strongly about that they just have to share or comment.

This is the key to success in 2019 with Facebook.
