We are deeply saddened to share that we’ve lost a beloved member of our creative community. Ian Jared Snyder, a gifted cinematographer and storyteller, passed away on April 16. His work was nominated for Best Sound Design in a Feature Film at this year’s Always Late TV Movie Awards—a testament to his incredible talent and the care he poured into his craft.

This is a big loss. Ian wasn’t just a filmmaker—he was a light behind the scenes, known for his quiet strength, generous heart, and the beauty he brought to every frame.

Our thoughts are with his twin brother Evan, his family, his friends, and his film family, who shared this message:

“Ian was more than a gifted filmmaker—he was a bright soul with a sharp eye, a generous heart, and a quiet strength that anchored our set. He brought beauty, care, and humor to our creative chaos. We are endlessly grateful for the love and talent he gave this story. This film is forever part of his legacy.”

A funeral service will be held Monday, April 28 at 11:00 a.m. CT at LifeSpring Church in Bellevue, Nebraska. A livestream will be available for those unable to attend: https://boxcast.tv/.../ian-jared-snyder-pxygvj7xtpsd4gpart8v

Rest in peace, Ian. Your light lives on. 🎬🖤

🏆🏆🏆 Winner: Best Feature Film

The highest honor for feature filmmakers at the 2025 Always Late TV Movie Awards goes to Jon Silver for his sharp, hilarious, and wildly creative film, The Premiere—now officially named Best Feature Film of the year!

Silver becomes just the third filmmaker in festival history to win this top prize, solidifying his place among the greats of the Always Late TV legacy.

The Premiere follows filmmaker Jacob Sanders on the biggest night of his life—his movie premiere. But what should be a celebration quickly turns into chaos: the popcorn machine breaks, the movie file won't play, the audience complains, his family fights, and strange hallucinations begin to blur the line between imagination and reality. As pressure builds, so does the madness.

A brilliant satire on artistic anxiety, ego, and expectation—The Premiere is a must-see for anyone who's ever chased a dream.

🏆🏆 🏆 Winner: Best Short Film

A massive congratulations to Nuk Suwanchote for winning Best Short Film at the 2025 Always Late TV Movie Awards for his moving and imaginative film, An Old Friend—and yes, he celebrated with a backflip on stage! 🌀🙌

This award is the highest honor for a short film director at our festival, and Nuk now becomes just the third filmmaker in our history to receive it.

Starring Jason Faunt and legendary actor Tom Skerritt, An Old Friend follows an imaginary friend who discovers his “child” is now a 90-year-old man nearing the end of his life. What unfolds is a beautiful meditation on purpose, memory, and the impact we leave behind.

An Emmy Award-winning filmmaker, Nuk’s work has earned accolades around the world, including at Cannes, and An Old Friend cements his place as one of the most heartfelt and visionary directors working in independent film today.

🏆 Winner: Best Cinematography in a Short Film

Congratulations to Anh Vo for winning Best Cinematography in a Short Film for his stunning visual work on Caitlin Presberg’s haunting and atmospheric film, Come Out, Wherever You Are, at the 2025 Always Late TV Movie Awards.

Vo’s cinematography beautifully captures the isolation and emotional unraveling of Vernon Parrish, a retired mayor seeking peace in the quiet of Livingston, Montana—only to be overtaken by forces far beyond his control. From serene landscapes to mounting tension, every frame of this short film is filled with intention, mood, and quiet power.

A visually masterful achievement that deepens the film’s emotional impact.

🏆 Winner: Best Sound Design in a Feature Film

Congratulations to husband-and-wife creative duo Wyatt W**d and Gayle Gallagher for winning Best Sound Design in a Feature Film for their chilling and atmospheric film, Dark at the Top of the Stairs—their very first entry at the Always Late TV Movie Awards!

This haunting feature follows a man grappling with the death of his twin brother as he returns to a family home filled with memories, regret… and a ghost. With intricate sound layers and haunting audio cues, Wyatt and Gayle crafted a soundscape that pulls you deep into the psychological and supernatural unraveling of the main character.

The feature is cleverly preceded by the 13-minute short From Hell Beyond, an “Outer Limits”-inspired segment presented in 4:3 that transitions beautifully into the main story—enhancing the narrative while adding a memorable stylistic twist.

🔊 A masterclass in sound design from two filmmakers who know how to build dread from the silence up.

🏆 Winner: Best Score in a Feature Film

Congratulations to Anthony Rodriguez for winning Best Score in a Feature Film for his incredible work on Ebenezer the Traveler, directed by Joe Valenti!

Rodriguez’s score breathes heart, tension, and wonder into this unique continuation of A Christmas Carol, where Ebenezer Scrooge awakens the day after Christmas… dead. Joined by Jacob Marley, his sister Fan, and a not-so-tiny Tim, the group must now earn their redemption by helping others in the modern world.

Set in New York, New Jersey, and Oklahoma, and filled with both heart and holiday spirit(s), Ebenezer the Traveler is an emotionally rich film—and Anthony Rodriguez’s music elevates every moment.

🎄 A haunting and hopeful score worthy of this unforgettable holiday tale.

🏆 Winner: Best Score in a Short Film

Congratulations to Matthew Rockett for winning Best Score in a Short Film for his haunting and evocative music in The Girl from Fedamore, at the 2025 Always Late TV Movie Awards.

Set in 1920s rural Ireland, this Gaelic Gothic experimental musical tells the chilling story of a young woman who conspires with her lover to murder her husband. Based loosely on real events, the film explores her psychological descent before and after the crime—culminating in both of their executions. She remains the only woman ever executed in Independent Ireland.

Rockett’s score is a haunting heartbeat that pulses through the film, intensifying its mood, mystery, and tragic beauty.

🎼 A stunning musical achievement that lingers long after the final note.
