When two or more are gathered in his name….even at a football game…God will be in the mist. Special thanks goes out to Bishop Anthony Witherspoon, of the Southwestern Delta Episcopal District, for starting the first 2025 UAPB Golden Lions Football home game the RIGHT way with a moment and personal prayer for the team in the locker room.
Fun Fact: This was the first time ANY AME Zion Minister has lead the Golden Lions in prayer. Joining him in leading the prayer was Rev. Lee of Moore’s Chapel AME Zion Church. Special thanks goes out to Cherry Street AME Zion members, The Hemphill Family, Calvin, Sr., Frankie, Lillian, Calvin Jr., and Trey Glymph for making this event possible. Thanks goes out to UAPB AD Chris Robinson and Head Coach Alonzo Hampton for allowing this prayer to take place.
And you know how James 5:16 goes, “The prayers of the righteous availeth much.”? Baby, let me tell you…Those prayers WORKED. The Golden Lions WON, 34-8.
Hmmm🤔, wondering can the Bishop swing before EVERY game?
