You'll be seeing changes to my FB presence, removing the more obvious references to the old station. Some of the images will remain in Photos, as that was a big part of all our lives and won't be destroyed due to the actions of a few. ESS

Update: it looks like I'll be broadcasting on Wednesday afternoons, once I get all the necessary front-end things taken care of. Wednesday at 4:00 to 6:00 pm Central (5-7 pm Eastern time).

As many of you are aware, and all will be upon reading this post, our beloved KDHX community radio station was run into the ground by the Management Staff and Board of Directors, and now has been sold to a conglomerate Christian radio company. It's a sad time in St Louis.

I am currently exploring other live broadcasting options, with the intent of returning to broadcasting in order to share the music of the blues soul rock n roll, jazz swing and everything that I love so much.

Thank you for your patience. I look forward to spinning your way again sooner than later.

Sad news to pass along. I don't agree with the judge's ruling. I'm dumbfounded as to how the judge could rule in this way. Yet, it has occurred. :-( ESS

LOVE of KDHX statement on Monday’s hearing in federal bankruptcy court. For immediate release.

ST. LOUIS. On Monday, June 9, 2025 the federal bankruptcy Court approved a motion to sell 88.1 FM KDHX to Gateway Creative Broadcasting, the parent company of Christian radio stations 99 Joy FM and Boost Radio.

The League of Volunteer Enthusiasts (LOVE) of KDHX is deeply saddened by this decision. We believe that 88.1 KDHX exists to serve the whole community and to be the unique voice of that community.

Along with all of St. Louis, we are devastated at the loss of this voice.

In Court, our attorneys raised serious objections to the sale and argued that there was no need to rush the process. They asked the Court for 90 days to allow for a community-based plan for reorganization and to complete our fundraising to repay creditors. These objections were denied.

While we await the Court’s written order, we join the whole community in mourning this tragic, unnecessary sale of a precious community asset.

At the same time, LOVE will be considering all options and feasible paths forward.

Our belief that St. Louis deserves and needs a great community radio station remains. We thank everyone who has supported our efforts, lent their solidarity, and demonstrated their love for 88.1 KDHX.

Today's KDHX 88.1 FM update...

For immediate release:
June 2, 2025. The LOVE of KDHX and the Coalition For KDHX supporting the revival of 88.1 FM KDHX issued the following statement after the high bidder emerged from the May 30, 2025 auction for KDHX assets:

"Now that the auction between the corporate broadcasting entities is over, we are eager to have our day in court to show that we have a viable reorganization alternative that maintains and strengthens 88.1 KDHX as a great FM community radio station. This plan will elevate KDHX and allow it to thrive and re-take its rightful position as a St. Louis cultural icon and community treasure," Roy Kasten (spokesperson for LOVE of KDHX) said.

KDHX NEWS - IT IS NOT OVER!!! IT HAS NOT BEEN SOLD!!!

We are sending out a request to ALL our musician friends, bands and songwriters, local, national and international. We are asking you to record a Reel on Facebook to share with everyone, why KDHX needs to remain in the hands of the community and not sold to a corporate conglomerate station.

Many of the artists will lose another outlet to have their music aired on the radio if this happens. KDHX has been there for some of these artists since before they had recordings available for sale. Many of the artists and bands have played LIVE in the studios of KDHX, many have done interviews about their music and let folks know when and where they might be playing in St. Louis. So if you are one of these artists and any of these reasons pertains to you, PLEASE let folks know about how KDHX has helped you / band.

I know that my blues friends have limited outlets to have their music aired, and losing any of these won’t help. So again, asking, PLEASE make a Reel on why KDHX needs to remain Alive and Local and direct viewers to go to https://www.kdhxaliveandlocal.org/ and help to save this valuable resource in the St. Louis area and beyond.

Also if you’d like to write a letter to the judge overseeing this possible sale of KDHX, it couldn’t hurt either. She respectfully reads EVERY single letter. In the previous court dates the judge has acknowledged the number of letters received so far on this issue. Message me and I can give you details on where to send the letter.

Time is of the essence!!! and the next court date is June 9 to stop this sale and keep KDHX Alive and Local. Please share this with ALL.
