If you have been following along, you know I have shared a few peeks of my upcoming coloring book. What you might not know is that every single floral design started as one of my own flower photographs. I took the real blooms and turned them into line art so you can bring your own palette to them.

Combining my love for photography with illustration has been such an interesting process. Flowers like these - paired with the reminder that you hold light, even on your darkest days - are meant to give you a moment of genuine pause in a busy world.

This project has been a true labor of love.

I spent a long time watching this Black-billed Magpie through my lens before I finally understood what makes it so captivating.

From a distance, it looks strictly black and white. For a long time, I caught myself living life exactly like that… trying to fit into a mold, sticking to the script, and just blending in with the background.

But then the sun broke through the branches and caught this bird’s feathers. Suddenly, there were these incredible, hidden flashes of iridescent blue and shimmering green! It was not plain at all. It was just waiting for the right light! It made me think about how often we hide our own complexity. We keep our quirks, our wild ideas, and our true brilliance tucked away until we feel perfectly safe.

Watching this magpie was the exact reminder I needed: you do not have to shrink yourself to fit into a black-and-white world. It is okay to be bold, to be loud, to be different and to let people see the real you. Be true to yourself - always. 💙💙💙
