The perfect visual recipe as we gear up for summer break!

This snacktivity includes a visual recipe, communication board, and a sequencing activity where students will match the steps of the recipe. Opportunities for fine motor practice include spreading the icing, crushing the cracker to make the sand, and cutting the candy strips.

Enjoy!

This Learning Resources activity pairs perfectly with some rainbow rice for our weather unit. Students search for weather objects and match them to the color on the rainbow. Use the tongs for some added fine motor practice.

If you’re a teacher, you know field trips are both fun and exhausting. They take a lot of planning, organization, and schedule problem-solving. Each field trip is different, but here are some ways you can set your field trip up for success:

- [ ] Staff bags-making sure staff have a way to carry any items they might need during the field trip. Portable device chargers, hands wipes/sanitizer, and some extra snacks are always helpful.
- [ ] Social stories and choice boards-Creating simple social stories, using pictures of the destination, is a great a way to prepare students for what they might see/do during the trip.
- [ ] Schedules-clear schedules for staff and kids! Create field trip icons that can be placed on student schedules and talk about how it makes the day a little different. Prepare students (and staff) for what the day will look like when you return.
