PLUM JAZZ ALBUM RELEASE ANNOUNCEMENT! The Hot Club of St. Louis will release their eponymous album on July 27, featuring all-original music in the French jazz/jazz manouche style. 🎵

The Hot Club will perform the album live at a CD release celebration concert at the Focal Point in Maplewood. The album will be available for streaming/download on all digital platforms, and physical copies will be available for purchase at Vintage Vinyl.

Janet Evra's new record "Meet Me in Paris" is out NOW!

"Meet Me in Paris" is a fresh, fun, forward-facing performance of the French jazz canon. From the first track, a lively Afro-Cuban mixed-meter reinterpretation of Henri Betti’s classic “C’est Si Bon”, the listener is transported to a Parisian cafe, where this music wafts over a counter piled with baguettes and pains au chocolat. Janet Evra’s new record “Meet Me in Paris” coming October 20 on Plum Jazz!

The record drops October 20 on Plum Jazz. We had a fabulous time recording it at Midtown Sound House and performing it live on KDHX and at two sold-out shows at Jazz St. Louis. From the press release:

“Meet Me in Paris is a fresh, fun, forward-facing performance of French jazz favorites. From the first track, a lively Afro-Cuban mixed-meter reinterpretation of Henri Betti’s classic ‘C’est Si Bon’, the listener is transported to a Parisian cafe, where this music wafts over a counter piled with baguettes and pains au chocolat. Evra’s arrangements are accessible but also rich with small complexities that will delight jazz critics and Francophiles. Evra’s band - top players from St. Louis and Finland - support her charming, cheerful vocal stylings with tasteful improvisations and artistry. Meet Me in Paris includes nine familiar favorites and two original tracks: ‘Mia Mia’ and ‘Paris’. COMING JULY 2023 - Ptah Williams - Just Playin'

"Just Playin'" is the first and only solo piano record released by St. Louis jazz pianist and living legend Ptah Williams. Ptah has his own voice and style - others have said Ptah's place in the jazz tradition is somewhere between virtuoso style of Oscar Peterson and the wild brilliance of Thelonius Monk.
