Hit the ❤️ for part 3

For many St. Louisans, the Gateway Geyser is one of those landmarks that quietly faded into the background of our memories.

Located across the Mississippi River in East St. Louis, the Gateway Geyser first opened in 1995 and was designed to mirror the height of the Gateway Arch itself. At full power, it shoots water nearly 630 feet into the air, making it one of the tallest fountains in the world. On a clear day, the massive plume of water could be seen from miles away and became a unique part of the St. Louis skyline.

If you grew up in the area, there’s a good chance you remember spotting it from the highway, seeing it during a trip downtown, or watching it rise above the riverfront and wondering just how high it actually went. It was one of those things that made our region feel a little more special.

The Gateway Geyser may not get talked about as much as the Arch, Busch Stadium, or Union Station, but it remains one of the most impressive and overlooked landmarks in the entire St. Louis area.

Did you ever see the Gateway Geyser in person?

Yadi is a St. Louis legend 🔥

Before there was a generation of Cardinals fans who grew up with social media, there was Yadier Molina.

For 19 seasons, Yadi wasn’t just the catcher behind the plate—he was the heartbeat of the St. Louis Cardinals. He spent his entire MLB career in St. Louis, won 2 World Series championships, earned 10 All-Star selections, collected 9 Gold Gloves, 4 Platinum Gloves, and became one of the most respected defensive catchers in baseball history. (MLB.com)

But statistics only tell part of the story.

Cardinals fans remember the clutch home runs, the laser throws to second base, the way he seemed to know exactly what pitch to call in the biggest moments, and the leadership he brought to every game. Yadi helped lead the Cardinals to multiple pennants and championships while becoming one of the most beloved players ever to wear the Birds on the Bat. (Wikipedia)

More than two decades after he was drafted, his legacy is still everywhere in St. Louis. For many fans, Yadier Molina wasn’t just a baseball player—he was an era.

A true Cardinals legend. ❤️⚾

Still my favorite version of Busch ❤️

It wasn’t just a stadium. It was where generations of St. Louis memories were made.

For nearly 40 years, Busch Memorial Stadium stood proudly in the heart of downtown, serving as the backdrop for family traditions, summer nights, championship dreams, and unforgettable moments. It was where fathers taught their children how to keep score, where friendships grew in the cheap seats, and where complete strangers became family for nine innings.

Long before smartphones and social media, this was where St. Louis came together. The roar of the crowd, the smell of hot dogs and popcorn, the view of the Gateway Arch beyond the outfield—it all felt larger than life.

The stadium may be gone, but the memories never left. For so many of us, Busch Memorial Stadium wasn’t just a place to watch baseball. It was a piece of our childhood, a symbol of our city, and a reminder of a time we’ll never forget.

What is your favorite Busch Memorial Stadium memory?

If you grew up in St. Louis, there’s a very good chance Bekki & Wanda were on your TV at least 15 times a day. Their commercials weren’t just advertisements…they became part of the culture here. The jingles, the energy, the over-the-top local TV charm… it all somehow turned into one giant core memory for an entire generation of St. Louis kids.

There was something special about that era of local television. Before social media influencers and viral TikToks, cities had their own hometown personalities that everybody recognized instantly. And in STL, Bekki & Wanda were absolutely iconic.

The crazy part is these commercials probably weren’t trying to become legendary… but they did. Years later, people still quote them, remember them, and smile the second they see a clip pop up online. That’s how you know something became bigger than just a commercial.

Gone but not forgotten, St. Louis.

There’s something bittersweet about growing up here and watching pieces of your childhood slowly disappear over the years. The places that once felt larger than life… the attractions, arcades, restaurants, riverboats, malls, neon signs, and random little spots that made this city feel magical as a kid. Some are gone forever, but the memories attached to them still feel so alive.

For a lot of us, St. Louis wasn’t just where we lived… it was where we made some of our happiest memories. Family nights downtown, school field trips, birthday parties, summer afternoons, and those moments where the city just felt full of excitement and possibility.

That’s the strange thing about nostalgia. Sometimes it’s not even about the buildings themselves… it’s about who we were when they existed.

Gone but not forgotten, STL. ❤️

This hits hard if you’re from STL 🥹

St. Louis has been counted out more times than people can remember…but somehow this city always finds a way to keep going.

Maybe it’s the history. Maybe it’s the people. Maybe it’s the neighborhoods, the old brick buildings, the corner bars, the Cardinals summers, the music, the food, the memories, or just the fact that this city has real character you can’t manufacture.

St. Louis isn’t perfect. No city is. But there’s something authentic about this place that keeps generations proud to call it home.

And long after trends come and go, St. Louis will still be here doing what it’s always done…surviving, evolving, and proving people wrong.

The Lou forever ❤️
