One of my favorite animation shows!

A long time ago, on this day...
..the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars was released in U.S. theaters on August 15, 2008!

Fun fact for all the fans out there: This movie was originally meant to be a collection of individual TV episodes. The main part of the film was composed of three episodes with similar titles originally meant to form a trilogy: "Castle of Deception," "Castle of Doom," and "Castle of Salvation." A separate episode, "The New Padawan," which was developed later, became the opening sequence of the movie and introduced us to the fan-favorite, Ahsoka Tano.

But after seeing the early works, George Lucas decided it needed to be a theatrical release. This move also holds the distinction of being the first Star Wars movie released by a studio other than 20th Century Fox.

Shiny news from the world of Firefly: Alan Tudyk and Nathan Fillion are reuniting for a brand-new podcast called "Once, We Were Spacemen" Announced at Denver Fan Expo, this project promises more than just Firefly nostalgia. Tudyk says they’ll be “talk[ing] to our favorite sci‑fi actors… people who were on Firefly, people who were not on Firefly, and sometimes we just talk to each other”

Keep your ears peeled—no official release date yet, but with Fillion “in charge of everything,” and a backlog already recorded, it’s only a matter of time.
