According to multiple reports, St. Louis City SC has traded $700k in GAM to New York Red Bulls for midfielder Daniel Edelman. He’s 22, under contract through 2027 with an option for 2028, and was captain of USYNT at the U-20 World Cup. This is a move that has all MLS talking, and I think it’s fair to expect Edelman to be a difference maker.

The Cardinals have signed RHP Ryne Stanek to a contract, according to multiple reports. He’s a hard thrower, though some would warn that you don’t always know where the ball will end up. A Chaim Bloom 2013 draftee in Tampa, he posted a 1.57 WHIP out of the bullpen in 2025.

The Cardinals have acquired LHP Justin Bruihl from the Guardians for cash considerations. Bruihl, 28, was DFA’d by Cleveland Dec 20 and DFA’d by the Blue Jays Dec 16. We’ll see if he earns a roster spot or is used as a piece for another trade.
