"If you don’t know who you are, no amount of success will make you feel whole."

Over the years, I’ve seen plenty of business owners “make it” — the cars, the houses, the revenue — and still feel completely empty. I’ve even experienced it myself. Why? Because success doesn’t fix what’s missing inside.

True fulfillment comes from self-awareness, self-love, and knowing your why. Without that, you’ll keep chasing and still feel like it’s not enough.

Have you ever hit a big milestone but still felt unfulfilled? What do you think was missing?

For years, I undercharged out of fear. I told myself I was being “fair” or “competitive,” but in truth, I didn’t fully value myself or my work. Once I began recognizing the real worth of my time, skills, and impact, everything changed: I attracted the right clients, built better relationships, and grew my business in ways I didn’t expect.

Have you ever struggled with charging what your work is truly worth? How did you move past it?

"Your business will only grow to the level you’ve grown yourself."

When I began my conscious healing journey, I had no idea how much it would impact my business. But as I became more self-aware and started healing my old stories, I noticed a massive shift: I stopped self-sabotaging, made clearer decisions, and created the space for my business to thrive.

Growth isn’t just about strategy. It’s about doing the inner work that allows you to lead with clarity and alignment.

What’s one way working on yourself has changed your business?

This one takes me way back — one of my earlier “cool” (or at least decent) photos I took on a digital camera.

I was driving through St. Louis (maybe Clayton?) when I looked up through my sunroof and saw some guys washing windows way above me. Something about the angle, the lines, the moment — I couldn’t resist. So I grabbed my camera, framed it the best I could in traffic, and snapped this shot.

It wasn’t planned at all — just one of those moments where you’re not even trying to take photos, but something makes you stop, look up, and capture it.

I don’t often find myself downtown at sunrise, but this morning in September 2019 was different. We were shooting a video for the Stanley Cup’s visit to the Arch after the Blues’ big win, and as the sun popped over the horizon, I grabbed this shot.

I was using a Sony A7S II (not my usual camera of choice — I’m a Canon guy through and through), but the scene was too good to miss — the Arch in silhouette against that glowing sky, a fleeting view I’d probably never see the same way again. And what really gets me about this shot is the color gradient — that orange melting into blue and indigo. It’s my favorite combination, my favorite kind of contrast, and it makes this image feel alive.

That’s what I love about photography: moments like this are happening whether you’re there or not, but when you are, and you’re ready, you get to keep them forever.

It’s again!

This is one of my earlier film shots — probably about a year into shooting. My uncle had given me his 1970s Canon AE-1, and I remember swimming at a friend’s pool one summer when I looked up and saw this scene: clouds framed perfectly by the trees around me. I had to grab my camera.

And if you look closely, you’ll notice one of my favorite parts of shooting film — a light leak around the edges. It’s one of those beautiful imperfections that only film can create. Unlike digital, which builds an image out of data, film is alive — it’s chemistry reacting to light in a dark box. Light leaks, lens flares… those little “happy accidents” are what make film feel so magical.

A reminder to slow down, look up, and notice the beauty that’s always there — even in the imperfections.

It’s again! 🌼

These two shots were taken on my 1970s Canon AE-1 on a roll of Kodak 400 — some wildflowers (maybe daisies?) and a very patient honeybee. Shooting anything that moves on film takes intention (and a little luck), but this bee held still long enough for me to capture that moment — blurred flowers in the foreground, and in the back, a tiny scene of nature doing its thing. That’s what I love about film photography: slowing down, being present, and catching those fleeting moments you can’t stage or repeat.

Big news for business owners: Your Instagram Reels can now show up on Google search results.

As of July 10th, Google officially began indexing Instagram videos into its SERPs (Search Engine Results Pages). This means your short-form content is no longer limited to Instagram — it can now appear on the world’s biggest search engine when people search for your services.

Here’s the catch: Only public, consistent, strategic, and keyword-rich content gets indexed and rewarded. At DTK Studios, we help businesses plan, script, and create on-brand Instagram Reels designed to perform on both Instagram and Google.

Don’t post at random. Post with purpose. Make content that earns you visibility where it matters most — right on the first page of Google.

07/30/2025

You don’t need more ideas—you need to do more with the ideas you already have.
One solid piece of content can (and should) live multiple lives.
That video you spent time filming? Clip it, quote it, repurpose it.

Use the best one-liner as a graphic. Share a behind-the-scenes moment as a reel.
Take the full script and turn it into a blog post, a carousel, or an email.
You’re not being lazy—you’re being intentional.

The best brands aren’t posting more—they’re posting smarter.
Because your audience doesn’t see everything the first time anyway.
So give your best content the lifespan it deserves.

Before you move on to your next post, ask yourself: did I fully use the last one?

07/29/2025

If your content isn’t getting seen, the issue might not be your message—it might be your timing.
You could be saying something valuable, but if you’re posting when your audience isn’t online, it’s like shouting into an empty room.

Different platforms have different rhythms.

Instagram often performs best mid-morning, while LinkedIn thrives during the workday, especially Tuesday to Thursday.
Why? Because people’s scrolling habits shift depending on their routines—and your job is to meet them where they are, not where it’s convenient for you.

Strategic posting isn’t about luck—it’s about alignment.
Use scheduling tools. Pay attention to your analytics. Learn your audience’s patterns.
That one small shift in timing could be the thing that turns crickets into conversation.

Your message deserves to be seen—make sure you’re putting it in the right place at the right time.

07/28/2025

If you only show up when it’s convenient, people start to wonder if you’re serious.
It’s kind of like that one friend who only texts when they need something—eventually, you stop responding.
Your audience is the same. If your business pops in and out with no rhythm, people subconsciously start to lose trust.

But when you show up consistently—even just twice a week—it tells a different story.
It says you’re committed. Reliable. Legit.
And the algorithm? It notices, too.

You don’t need to flood the feed. You just need to show up like you mean it.
Trust isn’t built in a single post—it’s built in your pattern.
Start showing up with purpose, and watch your credibility grow.
