We spend the majority of this episode discussing Pride Night against Houston on 6/3. We tackle some of the tough stuff, including: commentary on Löwen and Hiebert, who chose not to wear the pride kit, how CITY SC put minimal effort into Pride Night beyond what the MLS was already doing, and some of the nastiness in the online STL soccer community surrounding Pride Month. We additionally discuss the Dallas weather delayed match and LA Galaxy, as well as some brief reactions to the Inter Miami Messi news. Christeena and Annamaria talk about the last couple weeks of matches – from the US Open Cup to getting stormed out in Dallas to our disastrous results against Chicago with two losses to the Fire in one week. STL CITY SC had their inaugural home opener – and won! In this episode, Christeena and Annamaria (with guest Jess) discuss the amazing parts of the night including the march, tifo, atmosphere, and more. We also address some uglier parts of the night as well, such as some people in the supporters section who took it upon themselves to use derogatory language in reference to opposing players. The inaugural home opener match had plenty of drama and elation, from Charlotte’s Enzo Copetti’s use of gamesmanship throughout the night, and our first three home goals.

Also included in this episode are plenty of mispronunciations, the new feature Tales from the Tailgate, a discussion of Facebook fan pages, and MLS Memes.

As magical as last Saturday was, it was blighted by some fans in the supporter's section who were using language that is completely unacceptable towards the opposing team (Charlotte). Not only was it derogatory, unwelcoming, and many levels of misogynistic and/or homophobic, it was uncreative, dull, and boring.

We can do better than that on so many levels. We can be more clever, creative, inclusive, and funny through supporter chants with tongue-in-cheek lyrics that anyone would feel comfortable singing.

There's definitely going to be some growing pains as we adjust to MLS in St. Louis. We hope that Saturday's experience isn't repeated at future CITY Park matches.

We’re still riding the high from the St. Louis CITY SC win last night! What a magical experience!!
