Tornado Hunters: Missouri Chasing tornadoes and severe weather throughout Missouri and Illinois. Welcome to Tornado Hunters: Missouri Official page! CELEBRATING 10 YEARS!!! Louis.

We are dedicated to bringing you current and up to date Severe Weather posts from all over the state of Missouri. We are based out of our home town of St. Louis, but we have freelance meteorologists and meteorology enthusiasts who help report from all over the Show Me State! We were founded in January 2011 after an uncommon severe weather event that struck the cities of Fenton and Sunset Hills on New Years Day back in 2011. Our Chief Spotter and Founder, Tex Frank, posted updates via social media on his personal pages and came up with the idea for what was then, Tornado Hunters: St. We have since expanded over the years with the help of thousands of followers from all over Missouri and even some as far as New York, Mississippi, Nevada...and Germany! Our team is now made up of 7 individuals who dedicated their time to make sure our fellow Missourians and our neighbors in Illinois can stay safe in the event of severe weather events which now include blizzards, flooding, wildfires, and of course tornadoes. We are a non-profit organization and our crew is strictly volunteer based. Every Spring, we post Safety Briefings via our page to give everyone ideas about their safety procedures they would need to take including things like first-aid, escape routes, survival kits, and what to do in the event of entrapment. Another life saved is another life changed for the better! Living in Tornado Alley, education and survival are key. We are celebrating 10 amazing years in 2021 and we hope to celebrate another great decade protecting and educating everyone! Stay safe and remember to keep a weather eye on the sky!

We would like to start doing something here on our page for our fellow Missourians and neighbors over in Illinois by partnering up and helping spread the word for small business owners!

Over the past nearly 17 years we've been hunting nature's most dangerous weather creation, we've seen time and time again about these small businesses impacted by tornadoes and severe weather across our great state, so we would like to start spreading the love and giving our local small businesses shout-outs that way, others are aware of what's hiding possibly right around the corner for a service they may be searching for!

We are monitoring and tracking a line of Severe Thunderstorms through South/Central Missouri at this time, spanning from Halltown to Lebanon and Seymour.

These storms present a Considerable Threat for 70+mph wind gusts as well as heavy rain and hail. If you have the option to shelter-in-place, off the roadways and away from weaker structures and glass, it is highly recommended to do so.

This line of storms is moving East at 25mph. These are not Tornado Warned storms, but pose a Considerable Threat to health and property.

REDUCE RISK OF INJURY OR DAMAGE TO VEHICLES by staying off of roadways until these storms pass!

A Tornado WARNING has just been issued for the storm we are watching near Chamois, MO in Callaway and Osage Counties.

This storm is moving East at 25mph now with reported ping pong size hail and 60+mph wind gusts.

Residents in Chamois, Gasconade, Morrison, and Hermann are advised to SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER at this time!

SEVERE WEATHER UPDATE

We are currently tracking a specific storm near Chamois, MO around the Callaway and Osage County area.

Residents are advised to keep an eye on the weather as this storm is already showing signs of strengthening and is already producing ping pong sized hail and 60mph wind gusts and is moving East at 20mph.

A line of Severe Thunderstorms moving towards the Metro St. Louis Area and surrounding counties threaten the evening celebrations for the 4th of July.

25,000 are already without power and the Lake of the Ozarks saw boaters trapped on the lake as storms rolled through in Camden County.

Be prepared for strong wind gusts up to 60mph, up to .75" hail, and flash flooding on roads.

A line of storms is coming thru the area and these areas will receive heavy rain all to already saturated grounds.

We are currently tracking numerous Tornado WARNINGS from Breese, IL all the way to Bloomington, IN

This is a potential outbreak that Illinois and Indiana have on their hands as this is a long line of dangerous storms moving eat throughout the state.

Residents throughout Central Illinois, especially between I-70 and I-64 are advised to SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER at this time!
