Creating a safe and cozy home for your birds is so important, but it’s not always as straightforward as it seems! From hidden zinc in perches to ordering the wrong sizes (oops!), I’ve learned some valuable lessons I wish I’d known sooner.

Sara, my umbrella cockatoo, is now thriving in her beautiful stainless steel cage, complete with wooden perches and her favorite fleece blankie. 🥰 Meanwhile, Boo and Misha are loving their upgraded spaces too!

Misha, my clever Moluccan cockatoo, has taken over the kitchen—and he’s not just here for the snacks! His methodical pepper-prepping skills are a sight to behold: tiny chops, precise scraping, and just a few bits tossed on the floor for the “forest mice” below. 🐭

Today’s menu featured peppers (his fave!) and even a bold taste-test of some chili—this little chef has a sophisticated palate. 🌶️🔥 Meanwhile, Boo and Sara watched from the sidelines, clearly in awe of Misha’s kitchen expertise.
