🎥 Why do directors yell “Action”?
Back in the early days of filmmaking, cameras were loud, and sets were chaotic. “Action!” was a short, sharp command that everyone could hear—letting the crew know the scene had started and giving actors a jolt of energy to dive in.
These days, not every director uses it (some prefer a simple nod or “whenever you’re ready”), but “Action!” remains one of the most iconic phrases in film history.
