🎶Hymn of the Day: A Multitude Comes from the East and the West

The hymn is based on Jesus' words in Matthew 8:11 and Luke 13:29 that many will come from east and west to feast with the patriarchs in the kingdom. It looks ahead to the day when the trials and doubts of this life fade and the saints receive the victor's crown. Each stanza ends with the refrain "Have mercy upon us, O Jesus!"

Hymn of the Day: O Love, How Deep (LSB 544) 🔔🎶
The tune DEO GRACIAS is given a robust treatment in this setting for 3–5 octaves. Mallets play a vigorous rhythm pattern, resulting in a rollicking, dance-like feel. The piece uses a variety of techniques and has two key changes. Level II.

David von Kampen delivers a modern setting of the familiar chorale for SATB and piano. The choral writing is approachable and easy to learn, while the piano accompaniment adds support and harmonic interest. A setting for SA and piano is also available.
