Sat., August 12, Actors and Writers Invited! FREE! Feature Table Read & Analysis
SCRIPT MECHANICS: Saturday, August 12, TABLE READ & SCREENWRITING WORKSHOP!
What: On Saturday, August 12, we'll read ST. LOUIE LOUIE, a sci-fi feature by Joe Evola.
Joe's Synopsis: A dead ringer develops a captivating pool hustle that leaves some mesmerized, while others are running out the door. Along with the aid of his road partner Roger, Louie Roberts AKA St Louie Louie does everything he can to become the greatest pool player in the world. When he buys a hypnosis tape, his pool game rises to an elite status. But to be considered the best, you have to beat the best and Louie may have met his match in the "Rifleman," the #1 ranked 9ball player in the country. Can Louie smother his ego enough to play the greats at an "even" game of pool or will he risk everything he has to make a risky bet?
When: Saturday, August 12, 12:30 pm to 5 pm
Where: Kingshighway Library, 2260 S Vandeventer Ave, St. Louis, MO 63110, at the corner of Kingshighway and Vanderventer/Southwest Ave
The interior temperature of the library's big room was freezing last month, so bring a sweater or BLANKET!
However, I did request that the Library HQ, which controls the room temps, make the room a bit warmer, like at least the lower 70s.
Script Mechanics’ monthly screenwriting workshop and script reading are this Saturday, and we also discuss the writing life and the art of screenwriting.
Actors -- Practice your Audition skills by participating in the COLD READING at Script Mechanics’ table reads!
If you want coverage on a script, please get in touch with Sandra Olmsted or Mary Schirmer.
Last month, several people asked about inviting others to the reading. By all means, please feel free to invite anybody you'd like. If you're the writer, you might want some moral support. If you plan to film the script yourself, you might want to bring your key cast members. If you're a reader-actor, please tell some friends about this opportunity to practice cold reading. We're always open to new folks.
Masks are optional, and social distancing is desired. Bring a sweater -- it's cold in that room.
Spoken Word Fans, Storytellers, Actors, Writers, Directors, Producers, and Film Fans are ALL WELCOME to Attend.

5. Thought for the month
"I keep reading that film studios are contemplating replacing writers and actors by using Artificial Intelligence to mimic their talents. Surely it would be easier and more efficient to replace executives, since they have no talent at all."
~John Cleese~
6. Don't forget the Media Communications Association swap meet Saturday, August 5, at Bad Dog Studios. 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
If you no longer wish to receive these notices, please just let me know. We'll miss you, though, and you'd always be welcomed back.
Blessings,
Mary J. Schirmer
