Join Us Tonight at Missouri History Museum as we celebrate the imprint and legacy of “The Patriarch of St. Louis Blues” Henry “Mule” Townsend!

There will be tons of Henry Townsend inspired activities and while making your way through the amazing exhibit, “St. Louis Sound” to see Dad’s Restored Piano and other memorabilia from St. Louis Music Icons!

We’re also pleased to have Sugarfire Smoke House on-site to help bring some delicious grub to the celebration!!

Tonight’s Schedule:

5:00–8:00pm | Explore St. Louis Sound and other exhibits. See Henry Townsend’s clothing and piano, as well as memorabilia from other St. Louis blues musicians.

5:00–7:00pm | Enjoy food and drinks available for purchase from Sugarfire Smoke House.

5:30–6:30pm | Play a Henry Townsend discography game, write your own Mad Libs–style blues lyrics, visit the Historians’ Corner to learn about the rich history of Black performers in St. Louis and the Blues Highway, and decorate a paper birthday cake with a message to honor Townsend.

6:30–8:00pm | Head to the Lee Auditorium for the Henry Townsend Birthday Celebration.
