October is Church Worker Appreciation Month, and many of our team members at CPH use their firsthand vocational experience as pastors, teachers, deaconesses, and DCEs to guide their work editing, producing, and sharing Christ-centered resources.
“Over the course of my parish ministry, I had the opportunity to do a lot of writing, but that opportunity expanded greatly when I left the parish ministry and did advanced studies at Concordia Seminary in St. Louis. In the eight years I was called to Lutheran Hour Ministries and now the ten years at Concordia Publishing House, I have been able to bring together my seminary training and my experiences as a parish pastor and confirmation class teacher to help enhance and sharpen the writing of pastors, commissioned church workers, seminary and university professors, and lay authors in many books, devotionals, Bible studies, and church resources. I thank my church worker training and experience for equipping me to help authors more clearly present the salvation in Jesus Christ to countless readers, as together we share God’s salvation throughout the church and the world in a clear and winsome way.”
