🖐️Hand Protection: Choosing the Right Glove for the Job.

Hand injuries remain one of the most common recordables in construction — and most are preventable by selecting the right protection for the task.

Key Points:
• Be sure you are wearing the appropriate type of hand protection for the task. Match the glove to the hazard:
– Cut-resistant (ANSI A3–A6) for rebar, sharp edges, metal work
– Impact-resistant for heavy material handling and rigging
– Chemical-resistant for solvents, epoxies, sealers
– Leather/rigger gloves for abrasion & general handling
• When dexterity is critical, this is more for our decorative focused contractors, consider barrier creams or thin nitrile gloves.
• Watch for sensitization: repeated chemical/nickel/rubber exposure can lead to contact dermatitis or allergic reactions.
• Inspect gloves frequently — tears, oil saturation, or worn palms reduce protection.
