Some 6,000 people showed up on Saturday for the second "No Kings" protest held in Stamford, according to organizers with Indivisible Stamford.

The event began with a rally that featured Mayor Caroline Simmons, Governor Ned Lamont, Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas, Congressman Jim Himes, and other speakers. Attendees then marched downtown from Hoyt Street to Washington Boulevard then Tresser Boulevard.

In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, the Stamford Mayor’s Multicultural Council and the Mill River Park Collaborative are teaming up for two community events featuring live performances and authentic music celebrating the rich traditions that shape the city's vibrant culture.

A first edition of the event was held on Friday, September 19. The second one will be this Friday, September 26, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
