Slavic Variety Show is an ethnic Eastern European radio show that broadcasts live from the University of New Haven in Connecticut every Sunday from 10 AM to 12 noon Eastern Time streaming live at 88.7 on the FM and at www.wnhu.net. We are streaming live at 88.7 on the FM dial for those in the surrounding area and on the World Wide Web at www.wnhu.net for everyone around the globe. This program is

the only chance you can hear melodies from Russia, Ukraine, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lemko regions, Gypsy regions, and many, many more on one program in their original language. You can sing along with and dance to traditional folk songs that take you back to your motherland, waltzes, tangos, polkas, rock n roll, techno, and modern songs from various bands and artists. The Slavic Variety Show provides an opportunity for family and friends to send dedications for various occasions or to request to hear their favorite songs. The crew most likely will have the requested song in their extensive CD collection. The show is also a means of communication from various organizations that promote culture of Eastern Europe such as festivals, zabavas, concerts, etc., to the general public.

Our community is coming together to honor Ukraine and mark the fourth anniversary of Russia’s illegal full‑scale invasion.

Join us on Friday, February 26, 2026 at 6 PM at St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 105 Clifton Avenue, Ansonia, CT (Parking on the Rear side of church on Howard Avenue) for an evening of reflection, prayer, and solidarity.

With participation from Ansonia Mayor Frank Tyszka, Derby Mayor Joe DiMartino, Very Reverend Peter Shyshka, Paster of St. Peter and St. Paul Ukranian Catholic Church and a special musical performance by The Yevshan Ukrainian Vocal Ensemble, this gathering is a chance to stand united for peace and support our Ukrainian neighbors.
