Avicenna (Ibn Sina, 980-1037) was a Persian polymath, only one of the many philosopher-cum-physicians of the Muslim world’s golden age. However, the reach of Avicenna’s work was not limited to the Muslim world. His breakthroughs, in the realm of philosophy or medicine, also broke new ground in Christian-Latin and Jewish societies. We're soliciting submissions for Avicenna, Winter 2018 edition!
Submit your essays, prose, photography or artwork to
[email protected] by February 15!

Guidelines for submissions:
1. All genres of writing and visual work are accepted (i.e. articles, photography, sketches, poetry, short stories, paintings, essays, and more) as long as they relate to one or more aspects of Muslim peoples and cultures.
2. Format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
3. Maximum word limit: 3,000 words. (However, longer submissions are accepted since associate editors can work with authors on making pieces more concise.)
4. Please include:
Author degree information (University Name, Major, Minor, Expected or Past Graduation Year, Graduate Degree info if applicable).
5. Author email address.
6. Submitted work must not be published elsewhere (including personal blogs, social media and the like).
