City of Stanton Water Update:
The Water Boil Order will continue through Thursday, September 4th, 2025. So please continue to Boil Water and utilize bottled drinking water.
What is being done:
1. City Staff continue to take water samples and physically sending them to the state lab. More samples will be taken on Tuesday and will have results on Wednesday. Additional samples will be taken on Wednesday, and results will be here on Thursday, September 4th.
2. City staff is continuing to chlorinate the water to kill any bacteria that is still in the water lines. So, you will notice a chlorinated smell in your water.
3. The State of Nebraska requires a "deadline" set for the city. So, while there is a deadline for September 4th, this doesn't mean that it will be the end of the boil order. So, please stay tuned for further updates as we move into next week.
4. K's Marketplace has additional water in stock and is selling those cases and gallon jugs "at-cost". Lou's Thrifty Way will continue to offer City of Stanton residents with free water refills, with valid ID showing residency.
5. If you are unable to obtain drinking water, please reach out and I will see what we can do to get you something. The City of Stanton does have a few cases on hand, and we do have a pallet through K's Marketplace for those that are unable to get water.
