When Ethan Moore is pulling a long night covering sports like tonight in Whitesburg, KY, he is so excited to see a Taco Bell sign. Tonight was a different story...grabbing fuel across the street he observed the Lady Pirates pull in under the signature glowing bell. Then, witnessed as they were turned away from the lobby, and with a two hour drive ahead chose to walk through the drive thru. In an attempt to offer a safety buffer, he pulled the van into the drive thru and gladly placed an order himself with flashers and emergency blinkers on. The gentleman on the other side of the order speaker abruptly, with clear irritation in his voice, said, "The drive thru is closed till we get these kids out of here". Ethan then replied, "But I'm with them, I just covered their game." The Whitesburg Taco Bell rep then more firmly denied his request.

So he stayed in the drive thu, now blocked by someone behind him, not wanting to leave the team without a blocking vehicle. Thankfully, another worker was at the window who was much kinder and helped to avoid further conflict. At the urging of the Pirate coaches, he also allowed Ethan to be served. Due to the kinder guy, the original planned boycott from Ethan for his additional four nights in Whitesburg this week has been averted. Tomorrow is Taco Tuesday too, that was close!

UPDATE: he would later discover they got his order wrong. You win some, you lose some. 🌮
