Today we celebrate the anniversary of America’s birth. It’s not the birth of a nation, and definitely not the birth of the US government. America is the idea that one people, under God, can rule themselves and throw off the perpetual shackles of tyranny. Our government has strayed far from these ideals, but ideas never die. So, I’m lucky to be joined by my two daughters and my wonderful wife in today’s celebration to rebellion, to freedom, and to family. 🇺🇸 God bless America - deus vult
