Have you ever felt like the world suddenly changed size around you?
For individuals with Alice in Wonderland Syndrome (AIWS), this can be a real neurological experience — not imagination.

This rare condition affects perception, causing objects or surroundings to appear larger, smaller, closer, or farther away than they truly are. Episodes can be brief, but they may feel confusing or overwhelming.

✨ People living with neurological differences deserve patience, support, and acceptance — not judgment.

Different perceptions. Same worth.

As this month comes to a close, we want to take a moment to check in with our community. Living with epilepsy, or loving someone who does, can make every month look different, and every experience matters. What’s one thing that helped you get through this month? If you feel comfortable, we invite you to share in the comments. Your story may be exactly what someone else needs to hear.

Low Vision Awareness Month 👁️
February is dedicated to raising awareness about low vision — a visual impairment that cannot be fully corrected with glasses, contacts, or surgery.

People with low vision may use tools like magnifiers, high-contrast materials, large print, or adaptive technology to navigate daily life.

At Outward Bound Community Services, support is centered on independence, accessibility, and inclusion — ensuring individuals have the tools and confidence they need to thrive.

🖤 Awareness leads to understanding.
🖤 Understanding leads to inclusion.

5 years ago, Uniquely You was just a dream. Today, it's a movement. 💪

In this month’s Publisher’s Note, Jamie Olson reflects on how far we’ve come and where we’re going.

What started in Indy now has the potential to reach families across the country. Why? Because encouragement, connection, and belonging aren’t optional… they’re essential.

This issue is a love letter to the families, readers, writers, and sponsors who’ve built something extraordinary.

Whether you’ve been here from the start or just joined us, thank you for being part of this beautiful community.

Here’s to five more years of celebrating YOU. ❤️
