Staunton Makerspace

Staunton Makerspace The Makerspace is a non-profit organization focusing on innovation, collaboration, and creativity. We hope to establish a location in Downtown Staunton.

We ensure affordable tools, training, and resources are available to the community for personal growth, career advancement and entrepreneurship. "Makerspaces typically provide access to materials, tools, and technologies to allow for hands-on exploration and participatory learning. They are occasionally referred to as fablabs, hackerspaces or tech shops." -- oedb.org/ilibrarian/a-librarians-guide-

I tend of think of MakerSpaces are modern libraries where you can get hands-on access to technology that is not widely available, such as 3D printers and Computer controlled Routers. It's also a place to get access to people with real expertise in electonics, manufacturing, art, and programming. A delightful collision of skills and expertise that could help us experiment successfully. We are working to establish (and would welcome contact from) local educational groups and organizations.

💪🔥 Huge shoutout to volunteer Ted Rabusseau for digging the very first post hole for our new shed—and getting that post set like a pro!

That’s no small task, especially in this heat. 🥵 Ted tackled it with grit, sweat, and serious determination.

Now that’s what keeps the Makerspace moving forward. Thank you, Ted!!

🙌 A Big Thank You to the Shenandoah Valley Governor's School, Principal Hull, and volunteers Sean, Jim, Sue and Dan. 🙌

We’re thrilled to share that we recently received a generous equipment donation from the Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School — and we couldn’t be more grateful!

This kind of support helps us continue our mission of making tools, skills, and creative opportunities accessible to everyone. Whether it’s woodworking, ceramics, stained glass, textiles, electronics, painting or beyond—this equipment will directly benefit the continued growth of our community. Included in the donation were three greatly needed pottery wheels!

💙 From all of us at Staunton Makerspace: THANK YOU for believing in the power of hands-on learning and helping us grow.

Let’s keep building together!
