October — the month I’ve been waiting for!
My chance to find one of my favorite creatures on this planet. One of the most beautiful sights in the wild, and one that also provides nourishment for my family.
My very first year hunting, I was blessed to harvest one of these incredible animals—and I sourced every last piece of it. Its meat fed my family, its skull now hangs over my bed, its coat sparkles in the sunlight across my living space, and its body continues to fuel not only my family, but also our dog, Millie.
This month, I want to focus on how to use and style your harvest. Trust me when I say I’m an expert at this. As the daughter of a father who hunted to provide for his family, I grew up surrounded by taxidermy. And now, as both a huntress and an interior designer, I want to show you that taxidermy of any kind doesn’t have to be a thorn in your design side. It can be stylish, beautiful, and even modern.
Over the next month, I’ll be sharing inspiration and tips for displaying every type of harvest preservation in your home—so follow along with me.
