Despite Colorado being the most popular destination for river recreation in the country, we have some of the worst public access laws in the west. NRS, Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, American Whitewater, & Bonfire Collective are producing Common Waters, a film that will educate the public on our river access rights - or lack thereof - and inspire Coloradans to take action to improve the status quo. Rivers in Colorado sustain us, supporting our way of life and robust outdoor economy. The Colorado Stream Access Coalition believes that there is a path forward to ensure that outdoor recreation on Colorado’s rivers can be enjoyed by all while ensuring that private landowner and water rights are protected.
