Are you looking for fun decorations for your front lawn or backyard? Well, you’re in luck! The City of Craig Parks and Recreation Department in Craig, CO, is currently auctioning off 10 Whittle the Wood Rendezvous Wood Carvings. These 10 one-of-a-kind wooden statues were skillfully crafted by chainsaw artists out of natural wooden logs during the Whittle the Wood Rendezvous festival in Craig. The online auctions are open to the public at municibid.com and start ending on Wednesday, July 16th. Colorado residents are able to bid in these government auctions online, 24/7, on Municibid.

Why are these auctions important? All of the proceeds from these auctions are going right back into improving the City of Craig’s local community. 100% of the proceeds from these auctions go back to the City of Craig. These funds can be used for road maintenance, setting up local events for residents, community programs, public safety initiatives, and more!

Created by talented chainsaw artists at the renowned Whittle the Wood Rendezvous, these extraordinary wood carvings are must-haves for any art enthusiast. Showcasing a wide range of creativity and craftsmanship, the lineup includes whimsical, stunning, and masterfully sculpted pieces such as “Purple People Eater” by Joe Srholez, “Tree Man” by Justin Driver, and “Centaur” by Jeff Coss. Other standout works include “Cruising Bears,” “Lions,” “Crane,” “Wasp,” “Gorilla,” and “Clink,” each reflecting the distinct style of their creators. Rounding out the collection is the uniquely designed “Hippie Table.”

In 1986, a one-night stop in Steamboat Springs sparked Mary Pat and Mike McCurdie’s decades-long love for the Yampa Valley, culminating in the purchase of a vacation home there in 2016. Though based in Fort Collins, the couple transformed their Steamboat retreat and shared with family and their Labrador, Hansa into a stylish, functional space post-pandemic, with a revamped kitchen, wine room, and cozy living areas. With bold design choices, custom features, and outdoor upgrades, the home now serves as a cherished getaway where they cook, entertain, and unwind amid mountain views.

E3 Chophouse and its new sister restaurant, The Lounge, are redefining ranch-to-table dining by serving all-natural, hormone- and antibiotic-free beef directly from the E3 Ranch in Fort Scott, Kansas. The ranch is owned by former baseball player Adam LaRoche and his wife, Jennifer, and the restaurants are co-owned and operated by Adam’s brother, Jeff LaRoche, a former professional baseball pitcher. Known for its rich marbling and exceptional flavor, E3 beef is prepared simply to let the quality shine, with chef Brian Bailey favoring techniques like reverse searing. The menu includes the signature “baseball” cut steak, a nod to the brothers’ careers, along with pork and seafood, all cooked on Steamboat’s only commercial wood-burning grill. E3 also has a location in Nashville, co-owned with country stars Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, and all restaurants support the E3 Foundation, which aids veterans, human trafficking victims, and global humanitarian efforts.

We have updates for the possible Stagecoach Mountain Ranch. Plans were officially submitted in December 2024 and include six lifts on nearly 800 acres of private skiable terrain, a newly constructed base area and more than 600 units of luxury housing dotted all over the mountain. In community meetings last summer, residents overflowed the local firehouse looking for answers about the project and occasionally shouting their disapproval at developers.

It is the duty of a news organization to inform the public. It is to that end that we are posting the official Senate Reconciliation National Lands For Sale map.
It is the decision of all Americans whether to sell this land. However, a large percentage of land included in it is in Colorado, including Routt National Forest land.
Your local media, including Steamboat Radio, Steamboat Today, Yampa Valley Bugle and Ski Town Media, have kept locals updated on this bill.
You have a right to know.

When bipolar disorder turned his world upside down, 80,000 honeybees helped Casey find balance, purpose, and hope. What started as building a beehive with a friend became his path to healing—and his new business, Backcountry Beekeeper. Sometimes, recovery looks like waggle dances, varroa mites, and gallons of sweet success.

After decades of making music in Steamboat Springs—on big stages, at weddings, in classrooms, and around campfires—Randy Kelley is still showing up for his community, just like it showed up for him.

Through heartbreak and healing, he’s found purpose in sharing his gifts—teaching kids to play guitar, volunteering on the slopes, playing tunes for seniors, and encouraging the next generation to give back.

“It’s important we open our arms to new people, who are not like us, and introduce them to the community we love. Steamboat Springs is going to change. It’s your work now. Try to keep community spirit. When someone asks you to step up – just do it."

📍 Read his full story and find six local orgs where you can start giving back, just like Randy.
