I did not see that coming!

Didn't see this coming, but apparently Kumail Nanjani, his wife Emily V Gordon, and Margot Robbie's company LuckyChap have teamed up to produce S*X CRIMINALS, a new series based on Image Comics' property for Amazon that already has a greenlight.

S*x Criminals is centered around Suze, per Deadline, a normal girl with an extraordinary ability: when she has s*x, she stops time. One night, she meets Jon, who has the same gift. And so they do what any other s*x having, time stopping couple would do: they rob banks.

It's based on the comic series from 2013 that ran for 6 volumes which was written by Matt Fraction and illustrated by Chip Zdarsky. Nanjani will appear in the show, but it hasn't been confirmed yet if he will star or play another role.

Either way, this is a wild plot that feels very akin to shows like THE BOYS, and Prime Video seems a good fit. If it can work.

This is the font that they use when they want to show you that show is serious. That being said Wonder Man is seriously good.

This 8 part series touches on imposter syndrome, complex feelings about family, loss, tangled friendships, and digging deep to discover who you are and honoring what is exceptional about you. Oh and superpowers, but that’s a subnote and metaphor.

10/10 much more human than superhuman, this is the “comic book show” equivalent of the quieter comics in between the large bombastic galactic events. The X-Men playing baseball, the Avengers being introspective when doing a roster refresh, Alfred and Bruce having a heart-to-heart.

In fact? This is probably the first time that Wonder Man has been interesting.
