A line of showers and thunderstorms will continue to move through eastern IA and western IL this morning into early afternoon. The strongest storms will be capable of gusty to locally damaging winds up to 60 mph and hail up to half an inch in diameter.

On Thursday, June 19th, 2025 there will be a few road closures to accommodate the Sick the Mag Block Party.

Beginning around 1:00pm, until around 10:00pm, East 2nd Street from Avenue A to Wood Avenue will be closed to all traffic. There will be access to Holiday from the east on 2nd Street.

Avenue A will also be closed between 2nd and 3rd Street beginning around 5:30pm until around 8:00pm.

Expect heavier that usual vehicle and pedestrian traffic around the downtown area as nearly 300 cars are expected along with many spectators.
