The Professional Photographers of California just wrapped up the 69th year of West Coast School of Photography. Here is next year's line up and for the 70th anniversary of WCS, I am teaching a beginning photography course at a discounted price of $450.00. This will be basically a Photography 101 course, where you will learn how to operate your camera in all modes, but most importantly the manual mode, where you, the photographer choses the settings to get an image you want. Professional Photographers of California presents it's 1st quarter Members-At-Large Image Competition. Registration is now open at www.printcompetition.com and will remain open until Monday, February 17, 2025 at 11 pm. Get your images ready and submit them for the February 20th competition. All PPC Members are encouraged to enter, however, only Members-at-Large are eligible for the grand prize.....A gift certificate to West Coast School of Photography (Tuition only). The winner will be announced at the 2026 Awards Ceremony next January. The first quarter competition will be held on February 20, 2025 at 6 pm.

We've had a very busy summer, traveling all over the United States, recently we went to Reno Nevada to watch the Hot Air Balloon Races, just a week ago we went to Cambria, CA to relax near the ocean and feel its breeze's. I wanted to share a few images from these couple of trips...the first is the last of the balloons at the Reno Hot Air Balloon Race and the others are from our Cambria trip...great fun!

A week ago, I was with my friends from at the Reno Hot Air Balloon Races. We got there at 4 in the morning, walked for about 20 minutes to get to the launch site and saw some incredible sites....The morning glow, the dawn patrol, then the main launch. The dawn patrol has only 13 pilots worldwide that is able to lift off in the early morning hours (before sunrise), there were seven pilots at the event and they did not disappoint! Great time with great friends!! These images are from one of the two camera's I used, the second set of images will post when I'm finished editing them.

We just returned from Reno, NV to photograph the Reno Hot Air Balloon Races, Virginia City and the Virginia Range Wild Mustang Horses. Fun stuff, will post ballon races when I finish editing.

The AYSO Region 678 started it's fall season Saturday with the Antonyms taking on the Red Cobras, after giving up 2 goals to the Red Cobras, the Antonyms came storming back scoring 2 goals of their own to tie the game. The game ended in a 2 - 2 tie, but not a bad way to start the season. No games this week for the Labor Day Holiday, so we will take up the week after next. Here are some game shots.
