On December 30, 2024, the Haskell County Commissioners discussed a $1,500 donation check made out to the Sheriff’s Department. (The meeting can be viewed on the Stigler News Sentinel YouTube page at least for now).

The check was written from an individual’s personal account, yet the memo line stated “donation from Ocean 9.” During the discussion, it alludes that both the Sheriff and Undersheriff didn’t know what type of company Ocean 9 was. But here’s the issue: A quick internet search answers that question.

So why would law enforcement accept a donation from someone—or some company—without doing even the most basic research? and from a business that is usually targetedby law enforcement?

District 2 Commissioner clearly had the same concern, since he voted against accepting the donation. Another red flag: if this was meant to be a company donation, why was it written on a personal checking account?

And that raises an even bigger question: have other city or county departments also accepted checks from unknown donors without asking where the money came from?

Maybe this donation is completely legitimate. Maybe it’s not. That’s for you to decide after doing your own research and asking the right questions. But if it doesn’t sit right with you, it’s definitely something to keep in mind when you head to the polls.

BIG update: A process for removing life long Section 8 housing recipients has been drafted by the Government.

- People will not be allowed to get Section 8 for more than 2 years
- October 2025 is when they're supposed to be doing the budget for 2026, these rules will be sent to the states
- The states will then notify tenants who have been on Section 8 for longer than 2 years
- They'll notify you and give you 60 to 90 days, making you aware that the program would end for you in 60 to 90 days (60 vs 90 days notice will depend on the state)
- Public housing authority representatives will be making contact with the people who are currently on Section 8 beginning with who have been on the program the longest

"Section 8 will no longer be a lifestyle passed down from generation to generation."

OSBI INVESTIGATES SUSPICIOUS DEATHS IN POTEAU

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
AUGUST 20, 2025

POTEAU, OK – On August 18, 2025, the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office requested the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation to investigate two suspicious deaths.

Earlier that day, firefighters responded to a house fire near Branson Road and Monks Drive in Poteau. When firefighters extinguished the flames, they discovered two deceased individuals inside, identified as 78-year-old Dennis Beeson and 76-year-old Bette Beeson.

Both victims were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine their cause and manner of death. OSBI special agents, LeFlore County deputies, and the Oklahoma State Fire Marshal are continuing to investigate this incident.

✨County Audit Part 3✨

The other two commissioners consistently show that they can not be bothered to answer letters or emails directed to them concerning alleged potential wrongdoing and/or fraud and other potential weaknesses.

When Commissioner Watson brought up the subject of some letters and concerns he had received from a constituent to the others at a Commissioners meeting a few months back, the comments by Chairman Billy Cloud were mean, derogatory and he openly stated that he didn’t think anything wrong had been done and he was never going to answer anything he didnt feel he needed too.

Bring receipts if you come to the comments to argue. At the least I expect yall to read back through the minutes for the meetings from the past year or two, watch the old meetings, read the auditors findings from these reports as well as going back 5 or 10 years (to see its just the same answers over and over.)

The Stigler News Sentinel has just all of a sudden decided to stop video taping the meetings for YouTube exactly one week before these two damning audits were released.

Coincidence? maybe…but maybe not. Maybe their “generous” donor stopped paying. We may never know. I am making one last post on this that just contain the links for the audits.

✨County Audit Part 2 ✨

The Commissioners and other elected officials knew these reports were forthcoming and have since approved a new Employee Handbook and have also implemented a Policy and Procedure Manual, trying to lessen the blow from the audit.

But, ask yourself where did the sales tax funds go? What department was shorted money and who got more than allowed? If you read the reports, you will find the answers. I am also sick of the “Jail Debt”being a catch all response anytime expenses are defended.

I didnt personally vote for District 2 Commissioner Larry Watson, and a funny little side story on that revolves around a large decaying queen size box spring that has been in a CR ditch since BEFORE the elections. It’s been there so long it started paying property taxes. They MOW around it and everytime the road grader comes out it just gets pushed over with other trash and limbs. It’s still there as I type.

BUT he has at least been sounding alarm bells at the weekly meetings since he was elected but his concerns are either ignored or are outvoted by the other two commissioners. This is all public in YouTube folks. Meetings are recorded and uploaded for transparency at least until recent.

Commissioner Watson and State Senator, Warren Hamilton are the only ones consistently providing responses and answering questions brought to their attention. That is appreciated.

✨More on the Audit to come, but first✨

The reason I intended to space out the findings and some thoughts on it that do not just come from me, but from others in the community is because I don’t just sit around all day trolling the internet like the haters want to believe 💀

I have a family and kids that come first. I in fact care a lot about this community which is why I got so involved in the first place with turning this page towards exposing SA, Predators, Embezzlers, and others in the realm of public trust positions. What kind of community are we setting up for the next generation? As parents or anyone with a vested interest in Haskell County you SHOULD care about all of these things.

Holding educators, religious leaders, community leaders, and county and city workers accountable is what the community is supposed to do. That’s my soapbox. I’ll go ahead and make a few separate posts tonight about the audit. But like I have said, this page is to inform people. I’ve been trying to change the name of it for sometime to reflect the local area and not be a spin on the actual City but FB keeps giving me problems. Hopefully that will change.

With all that being said, I am a mom first and foremost and I also have a full time job and hobbies. I do my best to check this page to respond to messages, etc. but the positive thing is that for the most part there has not been much to share and that is a GREAT thing. In 2023, I had been in contact with the State treasurers office about my own concerns including an individual that had embezzled from Hopkins Propane who had run for office. I don’t think these audits are the result of my concerns alone, a lot of people have brought up issues and the county itself has asked for audits.

I encourage each of you to read through them. They are lengthy. The facts are all there and I personally am disappointed in some of the responses. Feels like smoke and mirrors, but let each man and woman draw their own conclusions.

On July 22, 2025, two audits of Haskell County were released by the State Auditor. One is for FY ending June 30, 2022 and one is for FY ending June 30, 2023. The findings are as concerning as I expected them to be.

These are devastating audits and everyone in Haskell County needs to become familiar with the reports and ask your Commissioners and the Excise Board how the County has been mismanaged in some areas for so many years and no one is being held accountable??

One of the major findings by the State Treasurer Cindy Byrd is that:

1. The County has misused voter approved sales tax funds since 2014. The County could lose all federal funding just by this one finding alone.
