Sophomores Graham Easttom and Brylar Honeycutt are this week’s Stigler Athletes of the Week, sponsored by AFR Insurance Sockey Agency.
Stigler football defeated Cheoctah 35-14 on Oct. 10 at Panther Stadium to pick up the Panthers first victory in district play.
Easttom ran for 166 yards and 4 touchdowns on 20 carries against the Wildcats. He also went 4 for 12 passing with 95 yards and tied C**t Falconer for most tackles with 8.
Honeycutt had 2 interceptions in the game including a 99-yard interception returned for a touchdown to seal the game. He also had 5 tackles against Checotah.

Several members of the Stigler FFA Chapter participated in the Tulsa State Fair.
Stigler FFA Results
Rebel Hanson - third in class and seventh overall in the spot breed.
Daycen Sloan - Dark Cross placed eighth in class and Dark Cross placed ninth in class.
Libby Pryor - second in Class York and seventh overall Gilt Breed Champion Hereford and 5th overall OPB.
Kinlee Kirby - 6th in class purchased by Mark Cox.

Native American Heritage Night Set for Thursday

Quinton Public Schools is set to conduct their first Native American Heritage Night on Thursday, Oct. 16 at the Keota at Quinton football game.
“We are excited to be honoring the rich cultures, traditions and contributions of Native American Communities,” Leslie Williams, Quinton Public Schools JOM Coordinator and Tribal Liaison said. “We look forward to sharing the evening with our students, families and community as we celebrate together,” she added.
The event will feature Native-inspired football uniforms, live performances from tribal dancers, cultural presentation and more.
Ava Rose Johnson will sing the National Anthem prior to the game, Johnson is a proud Osage and Cherokee Nation citizen. The Lord’s Prayer will also be conducted before the game by the Choctaw Princesses and Dancers. At halftime the Choctaw Dancers will a dance at halftime. The dance troupe consists of youths and young adults that play stickball with Yvnnvsh Homma out of Poteau and take pride in their Chata Culture.
Approximately 8 to 10 booths will be set up for the event which will have crafts or be educational. The booths will open around 5:30 p.m.
Quinton Public Schools has xx students enrolled in the JOM program.
Although a date has not been released as of press-time, the SENTINEL can confirm that a Native American Heritage Night will also be conducted during the 2025-2026 basketball season.
