Stillwater Living Magazine

Stillwater Living Magazine We're the St. Croix Valley's premiere lifestyle magazine and our content is published in print and o

Since 2005 we've made our readers aware of near term cultural events, thoughts from the experts living among us regarding health, learning, and raising families, published thoughtful conversations with key leaders about issues of importance to us all, and showcased local merchants and not-for-profit endeavors. Our pages also bear the stories of people and organizations who are creating value amon

g us today. Their arenas are varied — medicine, ministry, sport, the arts, education, law, public service, finance, philanthropy, environment, and more. Some are better known than others and some may appear to have a larger impact, but all deserve recognition for their contributions that make the Valley such a special place to live.

Understanding ~ The ability to interpret information and to communicate its meaning is a beautiful gift. The musician must be able to understand all the symbols of the composition, to translate the information, to interpret the mood of the piece and then use her instrument to communicate with the audience. The music is sweet, joyous, haunting, lulling, exciting and so much more. It soothes our soul. It is a mystery to me how music could be written and then played. This metaphor is a parable for all of the many things we do not understand singly. This gift of understanding is available for all, but only through discipline and practiced with regularity. What a shame to waste this beautiful gift.
