Meet Rob Biermann!
Currently, Bro. Biermann serves as the Church News writer for the Baptist Times. Like our managing editor, Bro. Al Roberts, he brings his Air Force experience to assist the staff of the Baptist Times.
Bro. Rob Biermann is also the pastoral intern at New Testament Baptist Church (NTBC) in Tucson, Arizona (Pastor Alfred King). Their family moved to Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in February of 2023, where Bro. Biermann was assigned until he retired from the Air Force in March of 2025. Through a DoD retirement transition program, he had begun serving full-time at NTBC in September of 2024, while still on active duty.
Originally from southeastern Wisconsin, Bro. Biermann enlisted in the Air Force at 18, married his wife, Rachel, and then was assigned to 7 different installations across several states, countries, and continents in 20 years. The couple has four children: Mykennah (17), Gabriel (16), Evangelina (9), and Noelle (6). From childhood through adulthood, God has blessed Bro. Biermann with amazing churches and pastors as well as his wife and children to help prepare him to fulfill God’s call on his life—pastoring.
Bro. Biermann’s life verse is Acts 20:24, simply stating, “It’s all about the Gospel.”

As humans, our scars are sometimes used to identify us. Each scar is a physical manifestation of a previous hurt we have endured. God designed our bodies to transform wounds into scars, giving us a picture of what He does in our lives. God gives us grace to overcome each wound we receive and convert it into a scar that becomes a memory without the pain. The scar, therefore, becomes a story of God’s grace. Beginning with the September/October 2025 issue, the Baptist Times will highlight the story of some believer who has suffered a terrible wound yet allowed God to turn it into a scar. If you haven’t yet subscribed to the Baptist Times, please visit store.baptisttimes.org so you can be encouraged by these stories.

Meet Al Roberts, our managing editor. From the cockpit of an F-16 to the helm of the Baptist Times, he brings years of experience to the staff.
Al Roberts joined the Air Force in 1992, married his wife Jackie in 1994, and trusted Christ as his Savior in 1995, while stationed at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, Arizona, for F-16 training. Al surrendered to full-time ministry in 2001 while stationed in Kunsan, South Korea. He served in various leadership roles during his twenty-seven years in the Air Force. After retiring in 2019, Al Roberts moved his family to Stillwater, Oklahoma, where he currently serves both as Managing Editor of the Global Baptist Times, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the magazine, and as Finance Manager at Bible Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Wayne Hardy. He is a dedicated servant who desires to see the magazine and Bible Baptist Church grow in reach and effectiveness.
