Headhammer Studio was created in 2006 by Marcus Pruitt as a fun little means to "put a stamp" on anything that was created in his bedroom, whether that was drawings that were scanned and short stories that were written and published on deviantART, or music CDs that were recorded and pressed with "Recorded at Headhammer Studio" written in the linear notes. In 2009, he and his friends set out to sta
rt making short films, but out of three, only one surfaced in 2012: "The Gleaming." Marcus retired from filmmaking, as it proved to be more challenging as previously thought; however, in 2018, at a Memorial Day party, his cousin, Leo J. Gann, pitched a movie idea that would later become "Malevolent," and therefore, Headhammer Studio was back to making short films, and has continued ever since!
