Sunray FFA storm Clean Up Day.
Monday August 4th 10am - 4pm! Students & Volunteers meet the FFA advisors at Sunray High School at 10 AM to help
Activities will include:
Picking up debris and trash
Cutting & removing tree limbs
Fixing sheds, barns & other work as needed
Please wear closed toed shoes, and bring work gloves, safety glasses, trash bags, rakes, shovel, tools, drills, and any other cleanup supplies you may have.
Community members in need of help- please reach out to Sunray FFA via social media or contact Miss Bushnell at

This is a hay fire units are on scene at this time working on it.
Moore County: Dumas
Have reports of an unknown fire roughly 15 miles EAST of Dumas.
Watch for responding units and if come upon this fire please turn around and or expect delays.

Moore County Emergency Management has issued a local disaster declaration for Sunray following severe storm damage.
Those needing to charge oxygen concentrators can go to the Moore County Community Building, now open until power returns in Sunray and Dumas.
Tree limbs can be dropped off at the dump.
They are asking everyone to please stay home and conserve water. If you must get out watch for debris and downed power lines.

Hutchinson & Moore County:
Power outage.
From Xcels webpage (outage map) it shows roughly 6,200+ people are currently without power across areas of Hutchinson & Moore county.
Some areas show power to be restored at or around 5:15am.

The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Tornado Warning for:
North central Oldham County & South central Hartley County
Until midnight CDT.
At 11:17 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 7 miles southeast of Romero, or 15 miles east of Nara Visa, moving southeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD: Tornado.
SOURCE: Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT: Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of north central Oldham and south central Hartley Counties.

Instructions: TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

City Of Amarillo: Public information release.
A Amarillo firefighter was arrested for the following: Joseph Clement was arrested for one count of “Assault Family/Household Member Impeding Breath/Circulation.”
Amarillo Fire Department “While we cannot comment on the ongoing legal matter, we hold all personnel to high standards of conduct both on and off duty. As a civil service department under Chapter 143 of the Texas Local Government Code, we are following all required procedures. We remain committed to maintaining the public`s trust and the integrity of our department.”
This is an ongoing investigation and if and or when more is available we will bring it you.
