It is with regret that I share with you that in April, we experienced a significant hard grounding causing the boat to roll to port and come to rest on rocks. The damage to the vessel, including both fiberglass and water damage, was severe enough for our insurance provider to deem it a total loss.

Zephyr was more than a boat to us. She was a dream for friends and family. And future friends too. She brought amazing adventures and clarity to our lives. We are incredibly grateful for the experience to travel aboard her for 7 years.

Our adventures will continue on land and we will be traveling the country for new sights and experiences.

Twice in the last month we have met people who have previously been aboard our boat when it was named Hey Bubba and owned by Bubba & Marcia Davenport
Imagine our surprise, tonight, while having dinner with DeFever friends (that we FINALLY got to meet in person) just to learn that they knew our boat before we did!

Zephyr’s refit continues… the salon walls needed a facelift. Go big or go home. We decided to remove them and address any potential water intrusion. We have replaced the windows and now the actual walls are being replaced and refaced.
Plans for cruising in the winter mean that these things have to be done now while we can!
Our best friends here in FL will be cruising south with us and we are SO EXCITED to journey with them to the keys!
