Big news for Stockton 👏🏽

Today, the University of the Pacific officially announced plans to open a School of Medicine in Stockton in partnership with St. Joseph’s Medical Center, with doors expected to open in 2030.

This is a historic milestone. California’s first M.D.-granting institution outside of Southern California, the Bay Area, and Sacramento will be right here in Stockton.

The new school will help address the physician shortage our region is facing by training more doctors locally, while also bringing new jobs and long-term economic investment to our community.

A huge day for Stockton and the Central Valley. 🩺🏥
