The 2025-26 Sports Season was one to remember and monumental for RoCo Radio!

We are so thankful for our community and the support you've provided us as we continue to grow.

This year, we established ourselves as the Undisputed Leader in local sports coverage.

124 Game broadcasts and many others covered in different ways.

34 Playoff games.

3 State Championship Broadcasts.

10,230 Listener Hours. (It would take one listener 24/7 listening for 426 days to catch up to that total)

1.9 Million Facebook Views.

A handful of firsts.

Our team covered Soccer, Volleyball and Wrestling for the very first time.

In week one of football, we produced game broadcasts for all four teams for the first time in RoCo Radio history.

During baseball and softball, we were able to broadcast three live playoff games simultaneously.

To say I'm proud is an understatement.

To all of our athletic directors in Rockingham County, administration, boosters and program supporters -- THANK YOU for believing in us. Fighting for us. Supporting and welcoming us with open arms. You've taken us on as if we were family and words cannot express what that means to us.

To all our head coaches and assistant coaches, you are our role models. What you do for our community and our student athletes will never get enough recognition. And that's the way you'd have it. But just know, at the end of the day, win or loss, we are driven by your impact.

To our parents, family members, sponsors, supporters and local fans (Shoutout to our #1 Fan Melita Hatley) -- You are our lifeblood! We could not do this without you and there isn't a time we open the mic, that we don't relish in the opportunity we have been granted. ALL BECAUSE OF YOU.

Our Mission will always be to connect you to the student athletes, coaches and programs you love, when you cannot be there.

Jonathan Hatley -- You're one of the most dedicated people I've ever met. I appreciate you more than you'll ever know. Your love for local athletics is unmatched. Thank you for all you do for our listeners and for RoCo Radio and for being a great friend.

Jay Ramey - I saw a kid who reminded me of the love I used to carry for covering sports. You brought that back for me and I'll be forever thankful for that. More importantly, I'm beyond proud of you for the work you've put in. You found your lane, got in the car, and took off. Keep driving. Even when the path doesn't seem clear.

David Ray Woods -- I was looking for a person to talk football with. Little did I know I'd find one of the best friends I could ever ask for. Thank you for your dedication, friendship and passion for Football and our local athletes. Your presentation is one-of-a-kind. It's why you're the Mayor of RoCo Radio. Whether its the call or the ride to the game, I always look forward to Friday nights.

Andrea Dexter -- My Rock. My Rock Steady. The one who always believes in me, even when I doubt myself. Thank you for always encouraging me to do what I love and be ME. I love you more than you'll ever know.

Finally, from the bottom of my heart, thank you to anyone that has supported or provided encouragement.

You're giving fuel to the little boy still chasing the dream he concocted over 30 years ago.

-- Joe D.

Championship Monday

Most of you know that Tri-State Steel works very hard and it is a huge part of our proud culture.

Strong faith, hard working, grounded, determined, effort based and tough but lead with love are words and ideals we pride ourselves on and we strive to bring to the table every day.

The foundation for that culture is not something that most people are aware of because she chooses to stay in the background supporting the team, and encouraging us to fight hard but do the right thing, the right way, without compromise or complaining. She encourages living as an example of God's grace and strive to be your absolute best self and give your best effort. Do it well because we are privileged to be able to do it. Whatever that "it" is, it is a privilege.

This past weekend Cheryl Scott as a part of her women's team won the USTA North Carolina State Tennis Championship. The team will be representing North Carolina and playing tennis in Auburn Alabama later this summer for the right to go to the national finals.

This is her second state championship in two years as she was a part of the mixed doubles state championship team last summer.

Congratulations Cheryl and thank you for being the quiet force and firm foundation behind what we do at Tri-State Steel.

We are very excited for you and very proud.
