PIONEERS OF THE LIGHTED FLOAT
Thank you, Bob Ansorge, for this photo of the Buntrock-Salie float entry in the first “Miracle on Lake Avenue” Dec. 2, 2002. “We took first place!” says Bob. He’s up front as the photographer. Doris Radke and Joyce Khurts are dressed as elves and Nicole Wendel, Andrew Ansorge and Tyler Wendel are the th*****me in front of “the backdrop.” “A very cold night,” recalls Bob, “temperatures 0º or colder, winds 25-30 mph. out of the north, plus in the early days of the parade, the route was from south to north!” FEATURED IN THE TIMES PILOT WEEKLY "DAYS OF YORE"
